THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I find that rarely ever works.

I've only known two people to successfully do that.

Every other time it ended in one person still wanting the other one, or one person hating the other person.

YMMV
I think I might know 2 people... but I've never been one for that myself but have had ex's want to do that. Sever ties completely for at least 6 months. If you bump into eachother after that, fine.

The only girl I was ever able to remain friendly with after 'we' ended was a summer fling and we both knew it. I think part of the big thing there is that we also never had sex. Something about that makes everything different.

i gotta try when we have like 60 mutual friends (according to the fbooks) and we each see like 5-10 of them a couple times a week.

I have 0 hassles in my relationship.

whats your secret?

ive been in 2 fairly sirius relationships. i just started talkin to the girl in the first one for the first time in like 2-3 years.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yup.

If I had to take a rough guess at what I've spent so far, I wouldn't be afraid to say somewhere in the $6k range.

After all said and done, I'm sure I'll be closer to $10k. And that's a full bodied, uncaged MJ on coils/leaves.

And I'm not adding a supercharger, linking the rear, running airshocks/airbumps all the way around, or doing a cage/nice seats right now (or even a fuel cell).

It adds up EXTREMELY fast.
i think ill be at 12k ish if it gets caged, would of been alot less if i didnt get crazy with the axles and tcase

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Go add it all up. Not hard to take prices from sites and add them up.

I HIGHLY doubt you're going to come in that low unless you cut out a lot of stuff.

Ask Bill what he spent on his.

And he didn't do a doubler, air shocks, supercharger, air bumps, etc.

We'll see. I'll probably do that. It shouldn't hurt my wallet quite as badly because it will be distributed over a longer period of time. It just pushes off the whole house thing a little longer.

I can tell you one thing you did that I didn't really plan on doing - fancy knuckles.

Fancy knuckles = $500. I didn't mind spending that money because it was a known weak link.

Getting full hydro? Plan on $1300 if you piece it together. Hydroboost? Add another $3-400 ontop of that (including everything needed). Rear link joints? Another $400 for quality joints, and probably another $1-200 in tubing over me.

Accounting for kingpin rebuild kits, hub rebuild kits, etc?

Not trying to squash your dreams or anything, and yeah being spread out will definitely help, but just trying to help you be realistic.

It's also easy to write-off consumables (cut off wheels, gas refills, etc.) but they add up quick.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Those kinds of guys will spend 6 hours hiking, 2 hours building a massive jump, and then only hit it like 3 MAYBE 4 times each. And they're typically a crew of 2 or 3 riders. They say after that the landings get wrecked and they move on. Those back country guys are nuts if you ask me.

frt alloy shafts 700, flanges 200, hi steer arms 300, expect to pay like 2k in tubing for cage

If I wanted a cheap, clean hobby I'd have gotten into knitting. I know it's going to not be cheap.

No one's squashed my dreams. I'm enjoying working on my project, however long it takes or how much it costs to make it the way I want.

We beat this, or similar, topic to death at least once a week.

Last I checked you could get cage tubing for under $750.

at ~$3/ft, $750 gets you 250 ft. And no one should be putting that much tubing into a cage.

even if it's $3.50/ft you still get 214 ft.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i am missing a bumpstop
i am going to rape everything that looks like rust with a can of krylon soon

yes. its a lot easier to build a new jump somewhere else than wreck going 40mph when you hit a crappy landing. its also a lot easier to build a new jump than smooth out the landing

and in this movie i bet they have a whole crew of people to build the jumps
