THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

If you want I planned on possibly making my own pvc inserts. They're just 16" pvc pipes. I'd probably cut them on a table saw. I lathe seems utterly unnecessary to me.
A lathe would be nice, but I think you're right that it could be done on a table saw with reasonable accuracy. When are you making yours?

Looks like I need to go to the GAJR this year. I'll still get pressd centers and rock rings that I weld on myself.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The pilots on stock yokes tend to be a tight fit even into the .120 wall tube; you gotta tap them in pretty solidly. I'd guess that you'd end up having a larger issue with the .250 wall, although the pilot's only about 1/2" deep, so it wouldn't be horrible to take a die grinder to the ID and open it up a tiny bit. I think that's a better solution than trying to telescope the 1.75" in there.

Yeah I think I'm gonna go that route. I'd feel much more comfortable having 2.25" than the 1.75".

Depending on what length I need, I'll probably order enough to make a spare.

Join a club and get involved, I'd suggest Mass Mudders

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

anyone know what it would take to swap a 2001 AW4 into a 93 grand cherokee w/ the 42re and quadra-drive t-case?

my neighbors 42re in his 93 ZJ shit the bed, and i have a spare aw4 out of my wrecked 01. was wondering if anyone knew if it was a bolt in affair, sans the wiring and all that jazz.

a lot of wiring to get it to work w/o codes.

if you use a aw4 that uses a standalone tcm it should bolt right up and work dandy.

the 93 ZJ 4.0 with a ax15 computer would prob work as that has no tranny codes built in..

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ha, I saw those earlier today. To me, the rims are worth $150 at the most. I doubt I'd get $100/piece for the tires.

mein gott

yeah, he's gonna have a real unhappy computer. Otherwise it will work great. If he can pick up a 4.0/AX15 ZJ ECU he is good to go with whatever tranny controller he wants to use.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Sam/Jeff, 99 tonight you guys down?

Probably not until like 8.

Would very much like to go, but can't tonight. I'm either going to the Celtics game with a buddy, or cleaning my up apt because we're trying to get someone to take over our lease so we can move to Canton.

got these photos yesterday. hopefully back soon!

You should sell him a Kastein Kontrollor and an aw4 as a package deal.
What? I didn't say that I was getting them.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Some of the early ZJ's had AW4's, grab a computer/harness off one maybe? :dunno:
Good luck finding a 93.0 ZJ in the boneyard around here. I have barely ever seen anything under a 95-96, most of the early ones are now chinese dishwashers.

Looks awesome!

I hate the aftermarket windshield visors on a lot of trucks but for some reason the J truck ones just look awesome.

No such thing exists right now. I am working on the designs for the rev 2.0 prototype though...
