They are 11lb spools, but even at that you are looking at $2.16/lb versus $3.04/lb for the HD stuff. Then again you also have to wait a week for it to arrive.

Edit: Yes, I know their products are not all made here, despite their company name/logo. :(

I don't think my MIG can fit a 33lb spool anyway, so that's perfect.

That is sort of frustrating having to wait a week. I'll probably do it anyway. I still haven't edited the pictures I took at my cousin's wedding a month and change ago. That's going to take at least 2 nights away from this week and I need tinker with the VW a little too (making the false floor). So hopefully it arrives by next weekend.

My entire jeep has been done with HD wire.

I noticed 0 difference welding with Bill's wire. Maybe less spatter.

With my welded cranked all the way up doing cast, I never had a problem.

Mark helped me put Ross's axle in my Comanche. I need to thank Mark and Ross, my jeep is less dangerous now.

Also side notes,
WJ lowers can be cut to fit xj/mj in less than 5 minutes.
Taking wheel bearings off old and rusty axles is easy/everyone but me is a pussy.
Putting axles in is easy unless you have one bolt that doesn't want to go in.
The grape soda in the fridge wasn't grape soda.
If you have a stub in hub and no inner shafts and the ujoint is gross, take out the ujoint or it will make a lot of noise.

My local welding shop carries the same stuff but a few bucks more. I just couldn't find the time to get there over the past couple of weeks and I didn't want to be without it. I would suggest trying to find some precision layer wound stuff, it really does spool better at the higher rates.

If you've had good luck with the HD stuff use it, I just personally would rather not.

now that you say it, I have noticed that the wacky-wound HD stuff does spool kinda funny, and I can hear the spool motor speeding up and slowing down.

wheel bearings are easy, yeah, never had one take more than a minute or two. 3lb sledge + sacrificial socket = bearing pops right out, even if the axle is sitting on the ground not connected to a vehicle, making the socket and power steering method useless.

Least favorite thing to have happen: toilet plug + overflow at 1:30AM when the only 24 hour store stocking plungers is across town. That sponge is never going to be the same.

Not a problem man, but I only really helped you put the last bolt in on the control arm. You did all the rest of it yourself.

I ended up getting back, and watching a movie with my roommates instead of studying. Thankfully its only a nutrition quiz.
