THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

And to top it off... Jenn ate most of mah Oreos :(

Home Depot for spool and convenience store for oreos. I'm sure one must be fairly close to the other. Both problems solved.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

damn that's just low... who the hell does that to someone? that's like drinking the last beer
No, that's like drinking all the beer except 1. She left me 2 Oreos. Who sits down for desert and decides, hmm, I think 2 Oreos will do it?! And yes, I'm going to continue whining about it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yeah i don't need the tires. I'd resell them cheap, but I probably shouldn't waste my time on the set. my best friend lives in that town. if you really want them let me know and i can have him pick em up if you pay the guy.

nah its ight. not a super smokin deal and i'd rather finish my 44 first.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

$38 for a 12.5lb spool and that's what I just finished going through.

Yuckie!!! Im not too keen on HD wire, even if it says Lincoln on it. I get Airgas' Radnor wire, its like ~$25-30 IIRC.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Huh, I'll have to check Airgas next time I'm over there.

I usually rock Lincoln wire and have had no problems with it so far.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I too am also not keen on HD wire. I bought one spool and ended up going back for a refund after using about 10ft of it. It welds horrible compared to the "good stuff".
Get series/layered wound rolls rather than random wound that also helps the feed at faster rates.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I should get my TIG setup going again. I gotta either magically fix my argon regulator or suck it up and buy a new one, and run a new gas line to the torch. Hopefully I can replace just the gas line and not have to replace the whole torch. One, I already bought a bunch of supplies for a type 17 torch; two, my torch is a flex head style that allow for different angles/comfort grip.

I also found that those cheapo spools arent sealed and subject to corrsion and such. The spools I get from Airgas are sink wrapped so nothing gets on the wire.

n

im sure jv is a cool place. but to me its just another desert with a shit ton of rocks.

i have been within like 15 miles of it on my trip and we had no ambition to go.

i may be wrong, but all the trails look the same. ya got some fast whoops sections and ya got trails with rocks that want to eat yo jeep.

id rather go to moab. or most anywhere in the rockies

yea ive never been to moab or the rockies so my opinion is biased. but when i finish my yj JV moab rubicon are all on my list to wheel

there are some really fun looking trails in JV. just none of them look anything close to easy

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Well, I've had great luck with my spool of Lincoln. It was wound fairly well, though not expertly. It came shrink wrapped when I did buy it and never developed any rust, though I did keep it in a dry location.

Maybe I'll go back to Airgas another morning this week. Which # should I get?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

my grandmother has something like that. it's all original and still works mint
yeah it was my dads god mothers stuff, she passed in october at age 101. my parents were taking care of her for her last 2 years and she left them the house.

so now we are going through the house trying to fix it up to try and sell it and we have all this old stuff laying around. i got a sweet set of bull horns now

35's and strong axles will getcha through most of it. This is after the waterfall on Wreckingball, with fellow NAXJA-ites mattyj and Jump This.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

$55 shipping? screw that

Just bought shafts, now all I need are steering arms, tube, and hiems, and I will have everything for the axles.

3rd member got delayed until monday, so I couldn't shave the 9inch this weekend.

The snow is finally getting low enough to get out to the garage and start getting it cleaned out enough for the lift, so hopefully I will be getting shit done soon.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

good family guy and cleveland show tonight

"SEE? lebron james still cares about cleveland!"

i dont even like basketball and thought that was hilarious

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Should I just get ER70S-6 wire again?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That's what I've run, good results.

I order mine online in bulk. I just paid (Colin/Chris/I used the last bit tacking Colin's ram mount) $95 shipped for 4 spools of it shipped, with 50 tips (way more than I needed). My local welding shop carries the same stuff but a few bucks more. I just couldn't find the time to get there over the past couple of weeks and I didn't want to be without it. I would suggest trying to find some precision layer wound stuff, it really does spool better at the higher rates.

If you've had good luck with the HD stuff use it, I just personally would rather not.

That's all I've ever used before but wasn't sure if there was a need to change.

I run 0.030 for thicker, structural stuff and I have a spool of 0.023 I might swap in for real thin sheet metal. $95 shipped for 4 spools is a good deal as far as prices that I've seen. I'll go try to find that deal. Since you just ordered it, hopefully I can find it for the same price :roflmao:
