THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I bet I shave my 9 inch before ross finishes his axle, and the plate I need is somewhere under 2 1/2 feet of snow.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ross, people have been doing 14-bolt shaves for decades without a mill. There's actually a legit article in 4-Wheeler mag (I think) that shows someone doing it with a sawzall.

Use a grinder till your plate fits, let the welder take care of the rest so it doesn't leak. It ain't rocket science.

Im just looking for an excuse to use the 2000# paperwieght thats been im my container for a couple of years now. It does nothing but take up space, I gotta actually USE it one of these days. Im almost tempted to sell it sometimes.

IMO a 9" is alot easier to shave; no welding to cast, dont have to redo the cover mating surface and bolt holes, and no modifying a diff cover to fit.

oh and mark, def saw your mounts cooking a bit.

poly> rubber.

MMs and the plates are another thing i need to buy for this jeep... but i'm working today til 430 and more OT tuesday night. time and a half baby oh yea.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Curiosity, really. I should still be able to do just fine when I mock it up for the suspension with regard to pinion angle. The front surface of the pinion's housing is machined, so I think it's a safe bet to assume that it's perfectly perpendicular to the pinion.

yep.

I am waiting to order, but I still want to know what it is that I've got. I had a couple hours to work on it today and it seemed like that was the best way to spend my time without having the consumables to fabricate.

sorry, but that really is a terrible excuse, just sayinnn. go to HD and spend $10 on norton wheels to hold you over for now... imo, not worth listing a day fabbing stuff over something so inexpensive...

but I can't weld either :looney: who'd a thunk I got yelled at for actually working on stuff that had to get done, albeit a tad out of order.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ross if you sell the bridgeport let me know

and i gotta take a pic of the storehouse up stairs in my shop. the amount of grinding wheels may make you sick.

bad part is theyre really old and not rated for new grinder speed. but i still use them with the old die grinder i have.
