Have you fucking read anything I posted?

I can't get 5.13T for the D70 which means if I want to go deeper than 4.56 I need a new carrier. They make 4.56T for the D70, but there's no point in spending an extra $350 to gear the front axle from 4.10 to 4.56 for such a negligible gain.

What are you running for speed in 4th gear at 3000 rpms in hi/hi?

That's more like where you'll be.
4.56's and 34's was perfect. With a 40" tire and a higher gear it's going to suck. I don't think I'm going to be doing that, no.

4th gear at 3000rpm is 87 mph with 4.10's

4th gear at 3000rpm is 70 mph with 5.13's

Yup.

You'll top out at 67 mph at 5000 rpms in 5th gear with the 231 in low range all the time.

Holy crap. If I do a 4:1 in the D300 and 5.13's my crawl ratio is 214. Baha, too bad it's almost certainly not going to happen. That's excessively low.

Sweet, I can start out in 2nd gear in hi range.

1500 rpms at 10 mph.

I'm also doing 20000 rpms at 65 mph in 1st gear.

Hey, don't rule it out. Indy cars (or maybe it's F1...) redline somewhere around 20k. Their combustion chambers are so far over square it's not even funny.

Indy cars go to about 10300, F1 to around 17500.

Yup. Ive said it once, I'll say it again. If youre gunna bother regearing ANY axle, go as deep as you can go.
that's why I'm considering 5.71s and 5.89s (yep, close as they get) for the 44/8.8... not sure I like how small the pinion is gonna be though.

If my MJ is done in time for the Line Mt races, I'm totally doing one this year.

I have the vacation time for it.

If I do a 3.15 conversion to my D20, I'll have a better crawl ratio than your doubler with 4.10s.

I might build up a better D20 on the side and just swap it in later if the gearing becomes an issue.
