Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The blue and black Norton wheels at HD are awesome, they're just not very cheap.
Those are the ones I was refering to, too bad they are 4x the cost of the Bullet ones. I'll swap them out twice as much to save that amount.
These are better quailty

HF carries the Russian vodka cancer ones.
Ahh... yeah thiose warnings were legit scary.
Time to do what?

I have to at least be on my computer.
It's a laptop right? Come on dude...
we carry norton, i get that shit for cost and get a free welding cap in every box
Well darn, ain't we special? :D
To bad the hookup doesn't extend to us (on other products).

I can't see out the window, it is just a white wall of falling snow. Easily 4" now.

I think that 35 might explode just pulling out of the parking space

yeah... I wish I had noticed the cancer warnings before using like 8 packs of them. I bet they were full of asbestos or something, and highly illegal.

I drove the 2wd MJ to work and had no problem. Had to clear an accident out of the road before I could get through to the highway though, the hill where main/lincoln street branches off from rt70 between the national guard base and the highway was an absolute disaster.

How much?!?! I wanna build a stripper pole. SS is better for spinning/dancing, brass is better for climbing IIRC.

XXXXing stripper pole NOOB

you need a pole inside a pole with ball bearings separating the two.

some chick walked up to me and adam off the street and started schooling us on it

My old lady takes pole dancing classes, shes knows more :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Taking the Jeep to school because I want to look cool in front of the ladies in my class. Sucks having only one class with girls in it.

And we don't even have an inch of snow Gayyy

[Devil's side-kick]Selectable or don't do it at all. [/Devil's side-kick]
You have plenty of time to save (although lots more to buy besides axle stuff). Didn't you want cutting brakes?
You are stirring the pot. :banghead:

Yes, I did want cutting brakes. I'm at least going to plumb the lines for cutting brakes, even if I don't have the capability just yet.

More axle internals/gear ratio thought:

The absolute cheapest route I could go would be to put 4.10's in my D70 and weld it. (My D60 already has 4.10's installed) That gets me a crawl ratio of 111 in 1st, low, low. The other option is 5.13T R in the front with a Spartan (lets me keep my current carrier) and an ARB in the back.

Need to buy no matter what:
D60 Spartan locker
D70 install kit
cost: ~480

Option 1 need to buy:
D70 4.10 gears
cost: ~220

Option 2 need to buy
D60 install kit
5.13T R D60 gears
5.13 D70 gears
D70 ARB & accessories
cost: ~1600

If I used 5.13's my crawl ratio would be 139. Either of those is stupid low compared to anything else I've ever driven so I'm using the grimm jeeper calc. I put in 40" tires just for kicks...

4.10's
crawl speed (fpm) @ 750 rpm, 1st gr: 71
5th gear, 2000 rpm: 74mph

5.13's
crawl speed (fpm) @ 750 rpm, 1st gr: 57
5th gear, 2000 rpm: 59mph

To compare all this to what I used to have (4.56's and 34's, no dublah)
Crawl ratio: 47.50
crawl speed (fpm) @750 rpm, 1st gr: 141fpm
5th gear, 2000 rpm: 56mph

Now, after all that, I don't think 4.10's would be a good choice if I ever plan on any high-speed stuff. The 4.0 just wouldn't have the power to do it. If I use 4.10's, I'll pretty much have to be in low/low for crawling and any time I want to go 'fast' I'd have to put one of the cases in high range and keep the other in low. I don't think I'd have any power with the 4.10's in high range.

Definitely agree with you on that.

Ryan, good luck.
