If the quality gets any worse you'll have issues. Those ones you got last time at a swap meet (Russian Cancer ones, IIRC) lasted about 1/3 the time of the Bullet ones which only last about 1/3 the time of the Norton ones.

I got my quote back from ECGS. Turns out the Detroit that I'd need is $630 with discount. At that price, I'm better off just getting a selectable or welding it.

No, theyre worse then like HD or lowes. Not so much price wise, but they only have like 5 wheels of each type in stock at a time.


Swap meets are the way to go I scored a ton at that one last month, 50 cutoff wheels for $25 and 25 flap wheels for $25. There was a small local compant there too selling drill bits. WOW high quailty stuff, like the type of made in the USA never break never dull cut anything bit. Price was reflective of it though, but worth every penny IMO

Spider gears are made out of metal, metal is for welding to other metal. Like other spider gears. Spider gears want to be welded. The only reason they dont come welded from the factory is to cut down on manufacturing time, everyone knows this.

The blue and black Norton wheels at HD are awesome, they're just not very cheap.
