THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I figure it will take me a few hours, assuming 1 trip to Lowes... so I tell my wife "a day".... that way if I get it done sooner, I am a hero.
Smart man. I need to get better at overestimating when I tell Jenn how long things will take.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yes, flywheel is for manual trans, driveplate or flexplate is for autos is yours still in one piece or in 2 yet

LOL... my FLEXPLATE is in multiple pieces (at least 3 that I can see), but has somehow managed NOT to actually come apart yet. The TC seems to be holding it together. Jeep still moves under its own power, but makes a nasty tinging noise. No assaults on Shoot the Moon (or even the snow pile in my front yard) for me until I can get it replaced.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

heres how mine came out, i drove around for a few months like that to

Wow, nice. I am expecting similar. I'll post up a pic once I get it apart.

Faucet is original to house.... from 1977. I am going in with guns-a-blazin, I figure it will take me a few hours, assuming 1 trip to Lowes... so I tell my wife "a day".... that way if I get it done sooner, I am a hero.

i wont settle for anything except subway, taco bell, chipotle, or five guys for dinner.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

that reminds me, I need to figure out if I need different size bolts to put a flywheel on than will come out when I take the flexplate off.

all but one box worth of my assorted jeep parts orders have arrived, oh and the damn steering spacer and m54a2 oil filter parts aren't here yet either.

Threads are obviously the same, but flywheel bolts are a little longer due to the flywheel being thicker.

I had T-pains off his engine that I reused with some loctite.

I'm sure new ones aren't expensive.

You kidding?? I can't stand being without a running/functioning Jeep for more than a week. It is driving me crazy that I haven't fixed the XJ yet, but the MJ satifies my need to wheel almost as well (I said "almost"... something tells me I will be missing the Creepies on the XJ this Sunday...)

yeah, that's what I was figuring. Might have to hit the stealership, autismzone only has the flexplate bolts for a GM apparently.

as of today, the 96 has been down for a week. I think I need to get out the snow shovel, welder, and tarp + cardboard tonight.

awesome, was just trying to find that info. They're J3170524 from the dealer and are MSRP $4.10 each

they come up as an Eagle part on the mopar db, so I guess they've been using the same ones for a while :roflmao:

EDIT: dammit Summit, WTF! they list "1/2-20" and "1/2-20 RH" threads as different, as well as 1/2-20 LH. I hate it when they list equivalent things separately.

well i had a wonderful ford pickup that decided it wanted all my time and money, then i built a super awsome jeep but its all good now

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Andy if you want new bolts i got a set of arp's i didnt use, still in packeging make offer if interested, also got the reinfocement ring to

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

same (think I have 3, soon to be 4 sets of used flexplate bolts)... and I have a couple spare OBD I / II flexplates. Soon as I dump the 96 I'll have another, and hopefully when I end up converting the 98 to be a real jeep with a man lever I'll have a whole 98-01 AW4 setup in reserve.

Anyone who needs AW4 parts... I got em. And I don't want most of em.

I was just planning on re-using my existing bolts. Where does the reinforcement ring go though? Thats tempting. I have had the tranny out of the XJ more times than I can count, but don't remember there being a reinforcement ring (at least not a factory one).
