This was my great switch panel idea.

I had a project box in the engine compartment with 6 relays in it. I used a length of CAT-5 network cable; 1 conductor was constant +12, 1 was key-on +12, and 6 were the returns from the switches. The relay box was sealed with a terminal strip on the outside labeled 1-6 and an ethernet plug in the side of it. Worked great. I had all 3 sets of lights on it, winch activation, cutout for the stereo amp that powered my sub and front speakers so I could pop the tailgate and just have my 6x9s going, and something else...I forget. Airhorn maybe on a momentary toggle.

I still have it, somewhere, but I think the box filled up with water and corroded all the relays. Also note the 5-band EQ and crossover peeking out from under the steering wheel, and the original idiot-light gauge cluster. The 6x9s were later relocated to here to free up cargo space:

That actually worked *really* well.

Yeah boy. Light bar!

Still have this too. Used to ride it to class when it would snow (I rode a regular Razor most of the time).

This was the beginning of the end. Spring 2005 maybe. Locked rear, locked front after the next wheeling trip, the day I put on brand new 33" Trxus MTs, still daily driven for about 7 months after this shot.

If you were in the chat yesterday, this is relevant. Me and Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater.

oh dang. I can't see it at work, but that's cool! Under A Glass Moon came on when I was driving to work this afternoon, when I had my Ipod on random. Then I turned off random and went to Images and Words, cause I suddenly had a strong desire to listen to that album :)

Well, here's more stuff you can't view then.

Rausch Creek from early 2006.

The first climb isn't bad, 6:30 is kinda funny, the climb at 7:05 is where I think I twisted both rear 44 shafts (also more Dream Theater), ~13:26 to the end is the saddest end of a Dana 30 ever - he never wheeled the jeep again after that happened. Bought a 44 to swap in, never got to it, and eventually sold the jeep.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

and i thought i got upset looking at old pics of my jeep... that glamour turqoise was mint.

I get pretty pissed at myself sometimes when I look at the pictures of my '95 when I first got it. cream puff doesn't begin to describe it. Oh well, it was fun :o

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I think so. Maybe 3, I remember breaking one of the rear ones at some point, and I think I installed some Gabriels we found in a corner of my buddy's shop that were like 3" too short. Either way they were whatever came with my Rusty's 3" kit, installed in November 2003, and still ran with the 4.5" setup. Probably had 50,000 miles on them by then.

You know those threads where people post about how you "don't need shocks, just drive it, it's fine"? I was one of those people.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i read that blog entry too, chris. i love old abandoned buildings and history and what not, like what happened there before, its intriguing. too bad you dont have any pictures in there..
State hospital trip?
I'm goin to Foxwoods and then a "gentleman's club" in a stretch Escalade on Friday. Gonna be siiiiiiick!!!
If its the gold club, fine, but if your going to juicys, run like hell

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Well this is looking like a fun weekend. (see attachment)

I refuse to take the GWB/Cross Bronx. Add 15 miles to go the Tappan Zee, remove an hour of traffic and headaches.

Plus the Sawmill River Pkwy is always a fun shortcut from 684.

Can't wait. :D

got way lucky on the way back from nc and got no traffic on the GWB, didnt think it was possible

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I will only go through NYC if I can hit it between 1am and 5am, otherwise, I go north to go south.
Of course I did that coming home from Virginia last summer, I sat it traffic for 3 hours, My friend who went through the city sailed right through.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That switch box looks cool but I would have used a nema rated box for the relays :roflmao:

My jeep looked mint when I got it, but it was hiding a severe case of terminal cancer under the carpets. So I went with organ transplants and it took up skydiving, downhill mountain biking, luge, and stunt driving. Might as well go out in style.

i went through the city once.

XXXX that shit.

used to use the tappanzee to get to rc. then realized 84 to 81 is a much nicer, stress free, no traffic drive. and takes just as long despite being a longer trip
