THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ogod :puke:

I remember that one. Those, uh, "shithead linkages" from the steering box, uh, mounting bracket really scare me. I love how one goes to the (completely unbraced) plate near the passenger side shackle mount.

oh, looking again (why did I do that?) it's a piece of angle, not a completely unbraced plate.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I love it when this thread keeps moving along fast enough that by the time I read the post and go to the NAXJA home page, there's a new post in here for me to come read :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

awesome. then let's talk about shit!!

A) I want the snow to go away so I can use my welder

B) I want to buy t00b

C) I want to finish the bender so I can bend the t00b

D) other shit.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Are you gunna build its own crossmember for the brace? Or maybe build something off of the TB brace you already have/had?

Was probably gonna build something that goes across approximately from the stock swaybar weldnuts in the frame. Possibly with the intention of developing this as a 'bolt-on kit' somewhere down the road.

Lockwashers = death

I'm replacing them with locknuts.

DUH

Cool.

The bolt & locknut are about the only thing left on the driver side motor mount. The bushing is completely exploded.

So much for 'bombproof'.

Reminds me, I should probably get in touch with M.O.R.E. and figure out how to get another one.

A) You can weld with snow on the ground.

B) I don't

C) I won't be building that until probably after NACfest

D) Ditto

My Brown Dogs held up fairly well. Only reason I changed the bushings out was because I already had them out.

I had stock motor mounts in my XJ up until I put the 4.88s/33s in.

First trail run out they pretty much grenaded.

A) yeah. I do need to get the plug installed still, though.

B) Me either, but you know what I meant

C) slacker

D) yeah.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm special.

I've been running them since April 2007, so I can't really complain I suppose, but my situation is worse than others. I built my link crossmember assuming the transmission was centered, which it really isn't. So my whole drivetrain sits at a little bit of an angle and requires some serious tugging to get the motor mount bolts through.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The watermain that keeps breaking right near work might have gone again. I've got my thumbs crossed for administrative leave.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so you can work on your JEEP?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm still running stock mounts in my XJ. Yay 3.55s and 33s!

They're getting pretty bagged but I don't know if I give enough of a shit to replace them. I have almost zero motivation to put any parts into that thing at this point.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You fab/welding guys want a laugh? Go check my build thread in bodywork subforum of mod tech.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

nope. So I can go to the audio store, give them my amp, go home and eat. I just ate lunch at 1230 but I'm starving right now.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have to talk to my local junk yard first to make sure they havn't changed pricing, but if all works out to plan, who would like to come up to my area to help pull and carry a d60 with me in the nearish future?

what time? I don't have anything planned for Saturday morning before the M&G yet.

Took me 2 hours between walking in and driving home with mine, and I lifted the vehicle and extracted it myself. I'm getting pretty decent at pulling axles.
