THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Hopefully I dissuaded mike13253747635 from driving hundreds of miles but didn't blow the whole thing. I can't help but wonder if he's just playing along now...

I'm gonna laugh my ass off if I see this info repeated on jeepforum/cherokeeforum etc years from now :roflmao:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I was actually planning on throwing you cash so you could go to a shop and try some of the bars; i cant remember if you had dirtbikes before but the bars make a huge difference from rider to rider.. My buddy's bars slightly narrower than mine (same bike) and it had a completely different feel to it

I think right now I got some honda bars on it that I picked up on a clearance rack that I finessed enough to make them fit (wasn't much 'finessing', just adjusting control locations really). Not sure what you like so I guess if you wanted to stop by at a bike shop somewhere and lmk I could do the work and put them on :dunno: I def wouldn't want to make the decision for you though.

edit: how many miles are on the CX?

quads and pitbikes for me, have ridden a couple different dirtbikes but not a whole lot. I'd be willing to bet I'll want bars that are lowish and medium-wide, but I'll go check some of at nault's tomorrow before work if I have the chance. I don't remember offhand how many mile on the CX, I wanna say maybe 20,000ish but I'm really not sure. I'll double check tomorrow.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So... should I get that waggy header panel for my MJ?

I'm thinking yes.

I've always been particular to this

Ken, thanks for the help last night.

My engine is out, coolant is on the floor, and a lot of work ahead of me.

Did you brace stuff before you cut more and removed anything?

No, but I measured (and wrote down) where it was. It is definitely as flimsy as a wet noodle, but stuff moved less than 1/16" and I will be able to pull it back to where it goes when I need to.

Why make more work for yourself? 2 mins with some scrap and it would have never moved.

I still don't see why you cut that crossmember anyway. My engine has been out and everyone else pulls engines without cutting that.

Good Luck dude, it seems like you created more work for yourself than needed.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I seems like so many people from my highschool are moving up to Boston now. I hate almost everyone from my highschool, I want them all to go home. I was here first, I got here 5 years ago.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just got a PM back from desertCJ on PBB... looks like I'm going to be getting a slightly damaged shaft for half the price I can get a perfect one anywhere else.

I pulled the whole engine/trans/t-case from the red Jeep, and cutting that made it so much easier.

But I''ll be cutting that crossmember out of the Briarwood soon. I've been debating whether to brace it, because I'll be working on one of the frame rails, and in the end I'll just be welding another crossmember on there so I will be able to know exactly where it is supposed to be.

Engine + transmission came out at the same time...

I may have created more work for myself, yes, but I'm going to be making a crossmember like you and Colin did before everything goes back together anyway...

Thanks, I might need some luck.

Why are you going cheap on something so important?

Ok, but did you care about how it went back together?

Brace it. Trust me everything moves.

Sorry if I'm sounding harsh today, but I've been were you are before.
