THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Guess what has 2 thumbs and just fixed an xj with a 30 amp minifuse and 2 feet of electrical tape?

THIS GUY! Turns out my rear o2 sensor wiring harness came loose from the body and had a little meeting with the driveshaft, and shorted out power for the sensors and computer, blowing the fuse.
how the XXXX could an 02 sensor make a obd1 xj not start?

had that happen before. only with my cam pos sensor, in amarillo texas

5v referance wire.

basically many of the sensors need something to compare thier signal to. generally its a 5v signal. and it all runs on the same circuit

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

but still... if it's getting bogus readings from an o2 sensor, it should go into limp mode, not completely die...

if the 5v reference is grounding out (from what ive seen) or broken. it will cause XXXXed up things to happen. itll cause the cps, cps, tps and whatnot to fawk all up

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

for the jeep with the alarm problem---dont know if it works the same but my ex's 96 used to freak out whenever it was jumped(happened alot, never turned off her damn lights) but what worked to disarm the alarm was to start with the drivers door and lock every door including the hatch, then unlock in the same manner, i know on zj's its the same thing, somewhere theres a wire you can ground to keep the alarm from arming but i cant remember if it was a zj only thing or what, hope this helps...

96s are obd 2 but in this case it didn't matter - what happened is the heater shorted out (12v) and the heater is powered by the same fuse many other important things are - both o2 heaters, the ecu, the ignition coil, the alternator field coil, and the injectors. Without those things working, my jeep felt rather miffed :rattle:

I got all excited and nearly asked for pics and then realized you were using the word "jumped" incorrectly

Thanks man, I'll give that a try when I pick it up Friday.
I'll let you know what happens.

IDK wtf AMC engineers were thinking when they made that threaded boss in the block with 0 gussets (one lame one coming up from underneath)

And those are the 6 bolts I'm grabbing on the pass side. 3 stock ones, the extra to the left, and the two studs for the coil mount.

Templates for the flat plates are made (took me a while since the bolts are spaced awkwardly apart). I have to do some homework tomorrow night (assuming I don't get it done during the day) and then I'll probably be able to finish it up on Saturday.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

awsome update to my build thread, check dat shit out

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm hopefully finishing my ramps tomorrow with anthony then fixing the massivemobile Friday, helping johnny build a shed Saturday then going to a party at the airport, then f if I know what I'm doing Sunday... likely fixing one or more of my jeeps or welding things unless someone wants to hit the trail on short notice.
