Yeah, you can do that, but putting a v8 ZJ front driveshaft behind a 4.0/ax-15/231 with SYE is perfect. They're $20 at the local PnP up here and there's always a good supply. Can't argue with that.Not all, but a lot of XJ front shafts are made from 2" x .120 tube. I've had great results using pieces of 1.75" DOM to make the driveshafts on my rig...chop the ends off a stock XJ shaft and leave a few inches of the 2" tube on either side, then just sleeve it over the 1.75" tube. The fit is tight enough that they usually wind up pretty true & balanced.
