THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

A piece of 3/4" steel, a 4 1/2" cut off blade, and a grinder wheel can make some though, that is what Ross and I did when we were working on our bumpers at his place.

i really dont feel like cutting up metal if i can avoid it lol

i might have enough extra for ya sam. my piece is 7" wide which gives it nice length to go thru and inside the bumper.

FREE (or a nice six pack donation), get it out of my sight in the next week or the garage guy picks it up.

- '97 Fuel pump assembly. 95K miles, worked good when I pulled it out. No plug.
- Ford D60 knuckle (driver's side), cracked at upper kingpin. Good for testing out a gusset plan or maybe fixed.
- HP D60, Rev. Rotation 3.55 gears, used.
- LP D60, Std. Rotation 4.10 gears, used.

Sorry dude, went and looked it is a driver's side.
Also, that is a pretty healthy crack.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just got back from the Line Mountain 7-miler. Made it 2.5 laps before the damn pin for my hydro assist ram fell out, and my tool bag was lost (again) so I had to park. Completed about 20 miles out of 30ish total.

I feel like I'm emerging from a 20-mile-long car accident. :D

Sounds like a blast!
I thought you were happy with your steering setup? Or was it just a fluke that it fell apart?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so i was cruising down 95 today around 2 pm...

see a statey pulled over a lowered volkswagen, tinted windows and blacked out headlights.

2 minutes later (i think) the same state trooper gets behind me and turns his siren on (they never do that in rhode island, just lights) tells me my exhaust is too loud and my windshield is cracked and takes me and my girls id's back to the car.

he comes back...

"Will you step out of the vehicle sir"

I get out, be brings me around the back of my jeep, has me put my hands on my spare tire and i get patted down.

"Have you been smoking weed today?"

me-"no sir"

"Are you lying to me? your eyes are all bloodshot"

me- "I have never smoked weed in my life"

"So if i search your vehicle there will be no illegal drugs in there?"

me- "uhh yea"

" Is this your vehicle? like, do you take care of it?"

me- "yes it is"

"get those things fixed have a nice day"

WTFFFFFF

Then he pulls out from behind me and pulls over a riced out mazda or some shit.

talk about stereotyping

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I've been through just about the same thing with RI state cops,

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Steve - yeah sorry about that :( JUST got home. We pulled the whole thing apart, broke a single bolt (a stud in the exhaust manifold for the turbo. Most of the way fixed now) and determined that the block was in awesome shape, so is the turbo, no play in the bearings at all. Heads are awesome as well, I was pleasantly surprised. No burnt valves, no warping, no cracking... so we slapped the gaskets in and torqued it down. Colin, you were right.

What's left -adjust valve lash, put manifolds back on, put injectors back in, reinstall turbo, put valve covers and water inlet manifolds on, fill it with coolant, oil change, DRIVE IT :guitar::guitar::guitar:

Bill, that hp60 is real tempting, but my plans don't really include big-boy tires and various things have been putting the hurt on my wallet pretty bad :(

my jeep really needs stiffeners and a cage :( or it will head to the land of my green jeep rather quickly. I gotta get my bum in gear about actually doing that stuff...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm just glad Mark went wheeling.

Will there be more of this in the future I hope?
Nope, most likely not until after December. Gots too much stuff to do once this semester gets going. I'm already getting behind on my capstone designs, I really should focus on that a little more.

Those are just the gears.

Holy crap yes you do. That coil mount was the most disgusting thing that I've seen on a unibody, it moved around as much as the suspension did. Plate the hell out of that side.
