Done.
can i go crazy with my sawzall? i got blades that cut thru 14b's, i wonder how much fun i could have :firedevil
can i also have the piece i cut off or are you gunna reuse/regraft it?
I'm gonna attempt to reenclose the passenger cabin. If you want some of the sheet metal you're welcome to have what I don't want.

Already did

Anthony I have a cordless with two batteries, it's in the toolbox on the back of my MJ that will be transporting the drill press in an hour.
Don't tell me that. I might wake up with an empty bottle of booze, my unibody in 2 pieces tomorrow, and no recollection of what happened.

Moved back home as of this morning. Figuring things out for myself.
the dumbass didn't even make it a week on his own.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Who wants to see my jeep get chopped? (in person) It would be especially handy if you wanted to see it get chopped and you also owned a sawzall.
 I got an nice AC sawzall and a DC w/ 2 batteries. When you planning on chopping?

Colin, do you have an extra couple feet of that 3x3 angle you dont plan on using? i could trade you some 2x6 that i know you need
I have approx 3 ft of 3x3x1/4" I could let go of if I don't end up using it by hte end of this week I think. I think I also have maybe 1.5ish ft of 4x4x1/4"... not sure on the length and I may end up using some more of it myself before I am done but not sure on that yet.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

actually it may be 3.5x3.5" angle... im not exactly sure anymore, will measure later.

So while trying to take off the steering box spacer I broke it.. can't say taht wasn't expected... but then I grabbed the part of the spacer around the stud and started turning it and it threaded the stud right out with it. :D

Now the project is making myself a steering box spacer... out comes the grinder and welder again :rof: I have a feeling this will be one fugly spacer.

Edit: Actually I got 2 options I guess... make my own brace out of some 4" flat stock I have laying around or try and use vice grips/channel locks to get the stud out of this aluminum thing and JB weld it back together until I can order a steel one. Any recommendations? I feel either way will work. Won't be the end of the world if my spacer isn't perfect and JB weld should hold the aluminum thing well enough.. Working with:

legit 5 second project.

step 1- cut triangle shape of plate
step 2- use old spacer to lay out and drill 3 holes
step 3- use a 5/8 nut and weld it on over the holes

DONE!!! the stock 7/16 bolts pass thru the center of the nut without hitting the threads and it spaces it out perfect.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Anyone order anything from JCR before? They say products usually take 5-14 days to ship but I doubt that's for a simple d-ring tab.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i ordered unibody tie in plates for my front bumper... they got here quick i think...?

I figured that's what you needed, i needed some angle for brackets and stuff so I picked up some 4' of 4x4" angle and something else. Something else may be 3' of 3x3" or 3' of 3.5x3.5". I can't remember what I got.

And thanks for the advice on the nut, wouldn't have thought of that. Now when you say "plate" how thick are you talking? I got some plate I was planning on using. but I was just going to stack washers and melt them together.

Actually I don't care if it's perfect. Just gotta last me through the wkend and if it's not good I will buy something. Off to take a ride to taunton on the bike for hardware.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

some 3/16 or 1/4 plate and some Gr 8 nuts. its wicked easy to make, and make PERFECT. i tossed one together in 3.6784928 seconds for Melissa's jeep

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So I think I'm gonna buy an external HD to back up my files on my home laptop since it's probably going to go south soon (overheating, freezing randomly, videos cause a blank screen occasionally, etc.).

Any recommendations?
