THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Two real dumb questions because I dont want to search. Who has good prices on some 760x u-joints? And where do I get the full circle clips? Will any work(given the right dia) or do I need some fancy smancy spicer clip?

I remember looking up the full circle clips myself a maybe a month or so ago and read that circle clips from most hardware stores are a bit too thin to be effective. At the same time I got a link to get the correct size clips from some website... problem is that I don't have the link here at work. If you don't figure it out by the end of the day shoot me a PM to remind me and I can send you all the circle clip info I have (I forget what links I saved, whether I saved everything or just the site to buy the clips)

Edit: Sweet, my google-fu was on and I found the link super fast :D http://www.mallcrawlin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19912

Has several links for places to buy the rings too, one link to get them for $0.72 each.

RS has a thread going here about that kit too IIRC.

Off to get a flex joint for the downpipe on the MJ...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

LCA mounts under the frame is the best idea EVER.

In all honesty Anthony, depends on how you do it.

Couldn't you make a tube crossmember with a bend in the middle to clear the driveshaft?

That would allow you to keep the arms above the frame. Especially if you're hacking up the back anyway.

I don't understand how people can do that. You lose triangulation when you put the frame side LCA mounts so far outboard. If I get one of these kits I might either have him leave those out or I'll get them and modify them. I like these better. I would be running a secondary crossmember somewhere behind the tcases...

EDIT: I just saw your edit. We basically said the same thing. That's the only piece in that kit that I don't really like, though. I imagine it wouldn't be all that difficult to modify them to my liking...

Good to know. I'm expecting to run into some sort of trouble with it...

I hope they run that sale for a while cuz I can't afford that right now

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Eff it. I think I'm going to run precision joints. I can get them locally instock for <$20. Going to burn off some tabs on the bumper and and panit the bisch up and be done with that part for a while. After I paint it's gears, I'll start the rear today cause those I know how to do and I want to get new joints before I start the front.

WRONG.

While I've had good luck with precision 1310s for the driveshafts, I wouldn't trust anything but x760s for the axle joints.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

keith, just shut up and get them from Jeff. then come visit me cause i keep the correct full circle clips in stock for 760's and 806's :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

wtf?

An x801 ujoint is a 1410 series for the AAM 11.5.
Yeah thats what I said when I looked them up.

if you love blowing ring gears and tweaking carriers, go with the spicers.
I wheel like a bitch.

Who doesn't? :D

On that note, he's only on 33s so he should be fine. Rob ran them on 33s and didn't pop his gearset...and we all know how he drove it
This too

If Jeff has them in stock for less than $21 and I dont have to pick them up then I will. Where is crown again, Canton?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Stoughton/Canton/something close to there, right on 138 iirc.
