THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I can pick it up for you if you buy it, no big deal there. Westboro is only a couple minutes out of my way if I head for bump's tomorrow evening as planned, just get things worked out and tell me where and how much you agreed to pay for it.

This might be easier for you Anthony. Westport is 20 miles south of Lakeville though.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yup. 2 nuts and it's out. Master has two more bolts, clip for the pedal, and a plug and that's out.

New one comes as an assembly (aka master/slave/line connecting them). It's basically a closed unit that requires no bleeding and comes full of fluid (according to my FSM, which could be wrong).

Aka this shouldn't take me more than an hour or two.

Not sure if you saw this or not Ken?
awesome, it'd just really suck to drop the tranny in that thing I think...

Fortunately the massivemobile does not have a hydraulic clutch - it's just a set of pivots and linkages, mostly external to the transmission.

I didn't see it actually. Never seen "5-by-huge" wheels, mine are fortunately standard 10-lug semi truck bolt pattern. M35s have a "6 by huge" pattern that is similarly annoying to find. I haven't found a place to buy tires yet but I have been told a semi truck wrecking yard will likely sell wheels and tires combined for 150-200 each, and I'm also looking at 100dollarman's 46" Michelin XMLs for $200 each. Just not sure if my current setup is tubed or tubeless and not really sure where to get them mounted and balanced... :roflmao:

I'll let you know when I figure more out.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Considering an NV4500 weighs close to 200 lbs...I'd rather not have to drop it either

Probably nothing compared to the massivemobile though.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ken can you grab the two front kick panels off of bump's parts Jeep for me? He told me $5 and I'll get them from you at Johnny's next weekend.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

maybe sam can reply to this? why did you got with 2" on the sliders i measured it up and looks like 3" will fit better?

2" = more clearence :dunno:

:roflmao:

EXACT same thing happened to me.

i swear they position it so that it gets cuaght and chewed up. aside from the cord hanging, i hate how it has its own seperate plug. why couldnt they jsut hardwire it to the machine? no need to have cords.

bench press it in and out, no problem

:D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Colin - yeah, my bet is 800-1000 pounds, not sure. The trans in it is a beast. So is the transfer case, fortunately they are divorce-mounted so I can pull one without pulling the other if I have to.

Sure, will grab em.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Anyone need a benchtop drill press? $40

Ditto on that one. I don't get it either.

I'd crush my face

That's insane.

I'm curious to know what came in that power wagon he had. Drop out 3rd members front and rear, NP trans and t-case (saw the stamping on them) and some flathead 6-cyl.

Nifty. If it was built for the military, you should hit up steelsoldiers.com and see if there are any decent threads in the (guessing) WWII era vehicles forum about it.

I've got "drop up" third members in mine, problem is, they weigh 220 or more pounds each. Apparently the axles weigh approximately 1000-1500 pounds each.

And I think my tie rod is bent and I may need a new TRE - I have no idea where to buy these parts without paying out the ass :dunno:

I get death wobble from hitting bumps at 10-25mph or so. Makes driving through Worcester VERY interesting. Brakes will lock up all ten tires though, so I can kill it reasonably fast.

Ken, try PM'ing that guy that bobs them in AZ. I bet he sources stuff at reasonable prices. (he might have a soft top too)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Already got a soft top lined up :yelclap: it's being delivered to my parent's place Friday night, along with most of the other parts I need. Cheapest one I could find was $250 for a new old stock one, in camo (they also had OD.)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Awesome.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hey anthony,

you email about that drill press yet? I just got an email back saying it's already been 'promised' to someone else who should be picking it up tomorrow night; if the other guy doesn't show up tomorrow night I am going to get another email.

If you are the other guy then  If you are not the "other guy" that was referenced I will either say that I was emailing on behalf of you or buy it myself and sell it to you. If I am the 2nd person in line I want to make sure you take my (apparently) #2 place in line rather than neither of us getting it

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Find me a ten wheel drive tow rig with a trailer for less than $3750 all-in and I will consider it :moon:

That $3750 includes all the new parts I just ordered for it, gas for the MJ for the round trip, fuel to get it back here, AND materials for the ramps I'm building.
