THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

maybe sam can reply to this? why did you got with 2" on the sliders i measured it up and looks like 3" will fit better?

2" fit perfect and its what i bought. its perfectly flat with the floor. and fits like a glove under the "step" door sill thingy.

Oh and I went through kelley square this morning in the massivemobile :scottm:

I drove like I owned the road and for some reason everyone else drove like I owned the road too.

can we like, cruise through thayer street one night when all the bars are letting out? ill buy the diesel

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hey anthony,

you email about that drill press yet? I just got an email back saying it's already been 'promised' to someone else who should be picking it up tomorrow night; if the other guy doesn't show up tomorrow night I am going to get another email.

If you are the other guy then  If you are not the "other guy" that was referenced I will either say that I was emailing on behalf of you or buy it myself and sell it to you. If I am the 2nd person in line I want to make sure you take my (apparently) #2 place in line rather than neither of us getting it
For once in my life, I'm proud to be "that guy." :D

Scott, that bridgeport is probably a good buy. The thing that caught my eye was the "tombstone welder." That's another name for a stick welder. See the resemblance?

where is thayer street and when are we doing this?

We need a stripper pole for the back before we do this though. I would say we should attach it to the front bumper but I think I might get distracted from driving.

EDIT: Providence... hmm sounds like a plan!

EDIT2: the passenger seat needs to be restuffed before this is really two-person capable fyi, the seat is PAINFUL right now. Every time the truck jolts, which is often, the back of the seat digs into you a bit. Seat belts are mandatory because you will catch air going over expansion joints otherwise.

Nope, no resemblance  And that also caught my eye since I have been looking for a stick welder. If I had room for it I would go look at the bridgeport but yeah, don't have room yet. I am thinking about renting a hotel or something out in Springfield area Friday night. Drive to work in the Jeep Fri morning, drive to springfield after work rather than heading back south. Pick up welder or look at other tools out that way Fri evening/sat morning, and hopefully wheel sat/sun

Granted that is all dependent on my Jeep being done by Friday morning. Not sure if I will be done or will need to spend Saturday doing some work to finish everything up.

I actually posted the bridgeport since I knew you were hinting that you might wnat to buy Ross's... don't know what he would be selling his for so figured you might be interested in this one if you could get it home :dunno:

edit: and the weld bench/heavy vice combo also caught my eye. at $300 it's a bit more than I wanted to spend but if it's a solid heavy duty bench with a good quality vice I would probably spend the $$

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

good luck. Orange, MA is at least an hour from Springfield. Why not stay in Hadley? It's a way nicer area. There are a few moderately priced hotels there too. And Hadley is way closer to the trail.

I was just thinking in the Springfield area since that's out that way and I would make a point to drive through Springfield and get Hot Table coffee & panini.

And quite frankly I would rather not drive home 45 min from Franklin on Friday afternoon just to re-trace that 45 min drive on Sat morning since traveling to western MA brings me within a couple min of where I work. That and I would just rather break the drive up into smaller trips and that way if my trans explodes on Friday night on the drive out I have 2 days to get a tow/ride home.

Yeah, I mean whatever works. But know this: whatever food you are able to find in Springfield can also be found (and probably better) in Northampton. I have yet to find another city with so many awesome restaraunts all within walking distance of the same parking garage.

I lived in Springfield for 4 years... I know the area well enough

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

mah b  I just love the Amherst area and would recommend it to absolutely anyone I know.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I would love to move back out that way. I just don't want to deal with a 1.5 hour commute if I did... I think on thurs the local mortgage agent stops by my work. Time to talk to him and find out how much I can get pre-approved for and if any of the houses I have been looking at are actually in my price range.

Edit: I love people who write FW sometimes. In our old (first gen) drives whenever a drive was unplugged or powered down in any way the log would be annotated with "R.I.P." Simple yet gets the job done.

I would like to state that I hate when tools fall into coolant.
I'll give you that. The worst thing I ever dropped was a bolt into a filled differential... Many bad things happened on account of that.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I really hope I can get approved and buy the house in Charlton. I'm really starting to like the looks of it quite a bit even though it's pricey compared to what I wanted to spend. (aka asking for about $50k more than what I wanted to spend but it's also ALOT nicer looking).

No, that was the one you guys picked up. My Dad wouldn't give me the one he had got. I'm still slightly bitter haha

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

What will make a good cheap power steering cooler?

i just go to the junkyard and get a bushel of stock tranny coolers, hand the guy at the yard some money and go home and see what fits best.

right now im using a small aftermarket hayden tranny cooler i found on a 2.8l cherokee.

definately makes a difference
