THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

scott bring the whole box to my house tonight. we'll have that sucker out in no time.
I could pull the box and get it out myself I'm sure, but as I mentioned in an earlier post I am tight on time tonight since I am going to be heading out for beers and trivia with friends and need to be heading out by 8-8:30. I really only wanted to bolt on the bumpers, fill the diffs and be done.

I plan on pulling the box this wkend if I can't manage to get the bolt out with the box still in the Jeep. Luckily the bolt that broke is the front/lower bolt so it's the easiest to get to. And if I pull the box there is a damn good chance that I will be upgrading while it is out. Maybe just stop by NAPA or advanced and pick up a new durango box (or whatever is the best upgrade) and not have to worry about it being old & leaking.

Sooooo I'm looking into getting a carport/portable garage/etc. type thing for the winter for my MJ. I figure if I'm looking for one large enough to work in, I should get it tall enough to store my truck in when the MJ is done.

Any ideas?
How tall is the truck? I like the one my father has, will check what brand he has tonight. he has one that is like 1.5-2 cars deep, zip up door on either end, plenty wide to work on in it. For some reason I feel like he spent in the $700 range but I can't remember if he got the heavier duty top, it's been a while since I went to buy it with him (there is a dealer in NH).

Edit: http://www.sheltersofnewengland.com/shelters_garages/12ft-wide_round.htm

That's what he has from the place we bought it. They also have the peak/barn style shelters and the 'barn' style has a taller door thing if you need taller (and they have wider than 12' but for your price range...)

And I may have to go up and buy something from them myself http://www.sheltersofnewengland.com/cycle_dome.htm

wow. that's big.

Keith, that portagarage is cool. I don't know where Colin could put that though.

I'm going to take some measurements tonight to see if I can stuff it where the MJ is right now. If it overhangs a little no big deal, but anymore and it will interfere with the actually entrance for our driveway itself.

We'll see.

Skip the social stuff and work on the jeep :dunno:

If you gotta get it running, do whatever you have to do. I've been up till oh-dark-thirty before welding, and probably will again. I got 4 hours of sleep TOTAL last weekend and drove for 10 hours on the way down plus around 7 hours (Pittsburgh to RC) and then ~10 hours (RC to home) in the truck, plus fixing it on the side of the road. If you really want to get it done... you will find a way to get it done.

That's the thing, I have no NEED to get it running though. It won't kill me to put the work off until the wkend. Quite frankly grabbing a beer and catching up with my friend who just moved from TX sounds better than pulling a steering box, esp since a couple other friends I haven't seen in months will probably be showing up as well.

I have had plenty of nights up all night back when the XJ was my DD and would gladly do it again if needed. But since the XJ isn't a DD anymore it doesn't take priority (obviously it doesn't take priority or I would have had work done on it ages ago:laugh:). I have been getting much more motivated to work on it lately though now that it's been a bit cooler out.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

And Colin, check that link in my earlier post, you can get a 12x24x8 round garage thing for $600 and they are in stock in NH so no shipping. only $500 if you want a 12x20x8 Round. They got taller ones too if you need the extra door height.

Edit: I'm not sure on the door height on the 8' ones (can measure the actual door height when I get home if you want). I can walk under it no problem, but may not be 8'... Hell if you are interested you can come look at one at my place rather than going to NH.

droid incredible is the one i want. the droid x is awesome, but have you seen one in person? it's enormous!
In my 1st class of the day, I have the droid, my friend next to me has the incredible, and then the two friends after that both have the droid X.

We were talking about it today, it seems like most of the engineers in our class have the android operating system, where as we notice those in communications majors in our elective classes have the iphone

Oh, and that's what she said!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

damn it I want to be working on my truck not stuck in this office :smsoap:

I nearly drove it to work this morning just to find out if I fixed the temp gauge or not. Curiosity is KILLING me.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i'll never have any time off or anything like that, and eventually the 18 hour shifts / 22 hour days may get to me, but shit this is fun so far!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yikes. 18 hour shifts?

Don't burn yourself out, it sucks. Do they give you any vacation? If they don't, they better be paying you overtime / hourly instead of salary, they're slave driving you right now.
