EDIT: looks like I finally found something that's cheaper on RockAuto than AllJeep, d30 unit bearings. RockAuto has Timkens for $94, AllJeep has D/S for $145 :shocked:

IIRC my buddy got timkins at advanced or something for $75. Idk if they were on sale or what. I got Timkins from autozone for $150 each. A few weeks later my buddy went to do his and paid $150 total.

I agree that they're badass, but... they just aren't something I will spend money on, not unless I end up winning the lottery.

Why do I like having a lifted XJ? I can drive it anywhere, anytime, if I need to, or if I don't and just feel like it. It will make it through things that almost all stock vehicles won't.
Why do I like having an MJ? I can throw nearly a ton of junk in the back and drive it somewhere... and yet still know how to work on it since it's the same mechanically as the XJ.
Why do I want an M35? Well, I can throw the XJ in the back, put a tow bar on the MJ and stick it on the back too, and then do all the same things the XJ can do...
Why do I want a house? Because I can work on all of the above vehicles in my back yard and my neighbors won't be able to do a damn thing about it.

EDIT:

oh man.. just tried inspecting the comanche...seals in the d35,seals in the d30,front brakes(caliper,rotor,pads),sway bar mounts, brake light on one side(wiring), exhaust seams,tailpipe,Battery tie down,tie rod boots missing, tranny line leak...

makes me almost want to sell it for cheap and get an inspectable xj.Maybe like $500 or something?

Its not really worth it to do ant type of work on the stock axles,and the rest is petty, but I have limited work space and money....

actually, theres a guy parting out 2 cherokees right now in Weare.
I may just pick up axles, as long as its a 8.25, make it spring over and throw the 3" Rusty's coils and LCA's in....hmmmmm.
maybe I'll just start building it now.
