THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ken, if you are pulling the steering wheel of a 97+ can i grab the clocking spring? i overspun my wheel without the steering box connected a long time ago. :anon:
For your '98 it has to be from a '97 or '98, '99+ won't work, IIRC.
Wish I would have known I would have pulled mine before I killed it with my hydro. ;)
I actually could use a '99 Cruise wheel and clockspring, but I'm not gonna add to Ken's list. I already owe him for the TPS. :)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have seen that same ad a few times. I just ignore it now. If you feel like emailing you will probably get this reply:

Hi,
I see that you are interested in purchasing my car: 2003 Dodge Ram 2500
You must know that the car is in showroom condition, always garaged, it has never been involved in any accident and has neither scratches nor rust. The engine runs perfect and the interior is immaculate since nobody has ever smoked in the car. There are no further investments required. The title is clear and there are no loans on it. I have all the legal documents by which I can transfer the title to your name.I`m a single mother with 2 children because I divorced my husband. After the divorce I got this car but I don`t need it and that`s why i`m selling it so cheap. The total price is $5,000 including shipping and handling. The sale will be through eBay's Protection Program for our safety. I have recently move to Canada after the divorce and I took the car with me, that is why i am sending it from here.I just need your full name, address and phone number so i can open a case. After ebay will contact you with the rest of the details. If you agree let me know a.s.a.p.

Have a nice day
Clara

I could have sworn that thing was running/driving when you got it! Guess I remembered wrong. 4.10s are not going to happen at Sam's, I have *never* seen a 4cyl XJ or MJ there, only 6cyl. Depending on how ambitious I'm feeling I can probably pull you some shafts - all the vehicles are on the ground, which makes it real fun (not.)

I forgot about them being on the ground, nevermind about shafts then. Maybe I will meet my buddy at that yard which keeps the vehicles up on stands and see what they have for XJs (if any) since he lives down that way, then I will drag him to everetts to get whatever I miss at the first place.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I think the clockspring is the same in all 97+... I know the buttons have different values for the resistive multiplexing on 00/01 however. Will check.

EDIT: Scott, yeah, it's truly a pain in the ass. If I find an axle just lying there, or a vehicle that still has bald tires on it or something, I'll give it a shot but I probably won't feel like jacking one up by then.

EDIT2:
Verified - clockspring is the same 97-01, PN 5600 9070 without cruise or 5600 9071 with cruise.

Hmmm... I know there was a reason I didn't remove the cruise and clockspring from my '97 and put it in my '99. Something wasn't compatible at least I thought.

Edit: The switches are different from 97-98 and 99-01 model years. I guess I assumed incorrectly that due to the switches being different the clockspring would be as well.
Oh well, my '97 is now bad (it was fine before I wanted to steer the Jeep last weekend). I could have used it in my '99. It just means I'm still on the hunt for the '99 cruise clockspring and switches.

Probably the buttons. The steering wheel buttons on the 00 and 01 have different resistances when pressed than the 97-99, for some reason. Wish I knew why.

EDIT: I'm a dumbass, this has no bearing on 97 vs 99

EDIT2: you're correct -

97 buttons - 5600 7530-1AB
98 buttons - same
99 buttons - 5600 7530-1AD
00 buttons - same
01 buttons - same

First time I have EVER seen an alphabetic revision change part (AD vs AB) that is not backward compatible! Another thing to remember...

ah oh well. sh!t happens. the important thing out of your post is that you have hydro.

so in short, i need one that will work with my 98 that has CC. this is if you have time/happen to see one/i will reimburse. thanks ken!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Anthony - don't worry about it, it'll pretty much be right in front of me once I take the wheel off, no hassle at all.

Don't worry about the TPS, I had it sitting around and couldn't really use it for anything. I do keep forgetting to get money from you for that steel plate though :roflmao: I think I've forgotten like 4 times now.

I guess, that is nice. :D

The worst part is I've had the cash for you every time, just forgotten to hand it to you. Once you get an address nailed down I'll just cut you a check. :)
holy s*** its Friday. Sweet. I love when I forget it's friday.
I never forget, I count the hours till Friday every week.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have an address nailed down if you'd prefer to cut me a check instead :dunno:

.!.:D.!.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I normally don't forget and count down like everyone else... but I tend to get all sorts of thrown off by Monday holidays sometimes. I love Monday holidays much more than Friday holidays.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Good to know. I've been a FF fan for years, never been to one of their concerts though. It's at the Palladium, actually... doors open at 6, show starts at 8 iirc.
