THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So side notem not that any of y'all will care... if I end up getting killed in a motorcycle accident this summer I have a strange feeling there will be another explanation other than shitty riding.. that is all I will say.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i've already got the ball in motion on that. i think i'll be getting it within a few weeks or a month.

Same phone? If you get it I wanna know how you like it.

that's awfully morbid. care to elaborate?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

alright... well. do your best to prevent the aforementioned circumstances.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm 90% sure I'll be towing down, so I could probably bring them back if that's the case.
:thumbup: i'll let you know. thanks.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Mr Cmelo thanks for the link to that phone, Ive actually been thinking about another cell to replace the one I have now and that looks good for the beatings mine takes. Do you know if it can withstand sharp teeth??

Mark are you going to repair the Blairwitch? If so, dont laugh, but I have those same KC lights sitting on a shelf in my shop new in the box never opened since 96'. I even have white plastic covers and the optional red fabric covers. I was actually just thinking about posting them up when I read the Blairwitch thread. I actually bought them in 96' and never used them.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Bump, that is awesome. Ya, I'm going to fix the Blairwitch, and yes I will need a new set of those lights. How much you want for them?

Also, I heard that you might have a set of chrome headlight bezels?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Oh yeah, Ryan, I'm planning a big sams trip tomorrow, though I don't think you're looking for an 8.8 anymore for some reason...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ken, could you keep an eye out for an elusive D30 w/ 4.10s? My buddy that bought the MJ off me took a look at it and apparently the T-case is fine. Ends up both front axleshafts are shot (u-joints look to have gone bad in a magnificent kind of way :D). I told the guy I would keep an eye out for a full replacement front axle since for all we know there is more than just the shafts that is broken. Otherwise if you see XJs with the good axleshafts I am interested in however many you can afford to grab for me. I need spares and my buddy needs shafts and spares so I would be interested in up to 3 pairs. IIRC you said Sam's is only $30 hub and all, right?

Oh and that partially explains why the Jeep wouldn't move in 4wd (ends up the t-case linkage was disconnected as well, though I thought it was from the start) but doesn't explain 2wd... . The D35 out back is toast too. My buddy threw it in gear and let it run... apparently the driveshaft turns but the Jeep goes nowhere :gee: He is probably stopping by my place this wkend when I'm workin on the XJ and he will be starting to prep his 8.8. :thumbup: So it needs new front axleshafts/axle, new rear axle, and he replaced the battery. After that work the MJ should be running and moving under it's own power again.

And I love sweet new sweatshirts :yelclap:

Edit: I hate truck shopping. So hard to find one with the right trans :( So tempting: http://providence.craigslist.org/ctd/1774686754.html

8.8's!!!! :eyes:

ken, wanna do me a favor and see if theres any with 3.55's in it? of course disks, but LSD would earn you bonus points.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So I had been smelling coolant the past few days but no signs of anything, and as I pulled into work a giant puddle formed just as I parked. That hard water pump tube finally rotted away. I guess the spare I've been carrying should have been installed a while ago.

Ross or Adam, you guys around today or busy?

I could have sworn that thing was running/driving when you got it! Guess I remembered wrong. 4.10s are not going to happen at Sam's, I have *never* seen a 4cyl XJ or MJ there, only 6cyl. Depending on how ambitious I'm feeling I can probably pull you some shafts - all the vehicles are on the ground, which makes it real fun (not.)

8.8's!!!! :eyes:

Almost certainly will be, they have a bajillion exploders and 3.55s were the most common when I went looking for mine, vs only a few in the yard with 3.73s and 4.10s. I'll make sure the sawzall batteries are charged up.

My shopping list -
* RENIX 4cyl alternator (not gonna find one of these!)
* 97+ fuel tank fill hose
* the screw-down pressed sheetmetal bit from the right side of the trunk area right behind the pivot for the bench seat (I screwed mine up when I did my shocks about a year ago)
* grey rear hatch plastic trim around striker (brutalized mine while doing the floors in the white XJ)
* assorted briarwood stuff, if available
* OHCs (looks like all 3 if still present, I should have just pulled them last weekend)
* MJ interior trim for one of the SEC guys
* 8.8 w/ 3.55s + LSD if possible for Ross
* spare shafts for Scott if I'm not out of time/energy
* 97+ airbox
* 97+ bright red nose, fenders, hood
* 97+ steering wheel

yeah it's gonna be a long day :roflmao:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ken, if you are pulling the steering wheel of a 97+ can i grab the clocking spring? i overspun my wheel without the steering box connected a long time ago. :anon:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

sure. You'll have to recenter it yourself though... doubt that the wheel will be centered on anything at the yard.
