THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

needle nose pliers, your finger, a magnet. All I know is that I'd rather have the problem be closer to the outside of the shoe and be a PITA than be impossible.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I think its pretty impossible to get those clips on with the shaft there. One because I couldn't get needle nose pliers in there and compress the metal clips, and two because once they are compressed, I would need to then turn the clip or pin in order for it to be retained, something that I couldn't do with the flange in the way right there.

I think the only way to do this is drill a hole.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Haha!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ditch the shoes or get better axle shafts that come with the hole, like who the XXXX makes a no c clip shaft without the acsess hole

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I never had a problem with them. Then again the last time I ordered any RC related stuff was back in like '06.
x2 except my last time was in '04/'05ish

Mark, why not drill an access hole in the shaft just like the shock ones? It looks like there is plenty of room between the stud patterns.
I thought of that but figured there might be very slight balance issues? Maybe I am wrong but that's the only thing I could come up with.

Edit: and thinking about aftermarket shafts. I think I gotta pick up another set of the toms KA shafts for my 9". as expected the splines on my current shafts are a bit twisted and I figure having a spare set of shafts isn't a bad thing so why not get some new KA's (since they are easier to find aftermarket than in a JY). I just gotta motivate myself to order them. And part of me is thinking that while I am at it I should order some D30 shafts as well, but I also think that is a waste and for the $$ I woudl spend on good D30 shafts I could pick up a half dozen pairs of shafts w/ bearings.

X2, i thought you were cool and had some Alloy USA shafts or something in there? are they poopykons?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have Alloy USA in the front, those rear axles I was told were Superiors.

I'm not going to buy new damn axle shafts, especially after I just pressed on the new bearingss, and the retainer plates with the spacers are behind them.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i hope i have next weekend off and i hope its nice weather, i need to get the dd goin, besided motor it needs tires and a trans pan gasket

then STFU and drill em already

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So... go get off the computer and find the drill. :D
Good luck.
Umm, I think the only way to find it right now would be to stay on the computer, seeing as I know for a fact I don't have that bit.

DON'T GIVE MARK ANOTHER EXCUSE!! :D

Haha, seriously though, that wouldn't be an issue.
Ya, I was going to say that. The rotationaly unbalance that hole would cause would be practically non-existent, since it is so close to the axis of rotation, the "mass" of the hole would be so small, and the tire would be majority of the mass in the rotating system.

:dunno:
I don't have the drill bit to drill them...
