THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Is that essentially the same ground that is in the rear fender of the XJ behind the spare? The fuel pump relay one?
This I have never heard of. I thought that ground only handled the taillights.

I could have sworn that I read that people use the ground in the rear fender of the XJ as a theft deterrent thing. I.e. wire a relay into that and use it as a fuel cutoff. Tonight I have to clean and paint one of my brake backing plates. While that is drying maybe I will fire up the XJ and then cut that wire to see if it dies :gee:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Anyone have another good site for a write up on the XJ dual diaphram booster swap? I have the madxj one in my favorites I wanna get some other write-ups and compare/combine info. Also Ken, before I forget, thanks for grabbing that latch thing. Next time I see you I'll grab if from ya if you have it with you, but if not it's no big deal. I've learned to live with the broken one. And would you happen to recall the year of the ZJ you got the backing plates from?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

No idea on the backing plates, sorry :( I didn't even look, just saw the plates and yanked em.

No idea on the booster swap... that's why I grabbed the pedal and everything else, so I could just say screw it and swap everything if I had to. Just be careful pulling the pedal/MC pushrod retention clip on yours, that is the only part I forgot to get when I was at the JY so you'll need to reuse yours. The WJ swap thread I used is here, if it helps any: http://naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=924285

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That clip is just an e-clip right? If so I have a ton sitting in my basement. I'm probably just going to make a huge project weekend of re-gearing, locking front, and brake swap. Maybe toss together a BYOB work party.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have that same WJ one Ken linked to as a PDF or .doc file I think. It's a NAXJA link but it just prompts you to download a file rather than showing a webpage. Just makes life easier when i go to print it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yeah it's just a wacky little sorta almost e-clip. You have to lift part of it over the end of the peg while pushing it across. I'll see if I can grab a spare at the junkyard tomorrow morning if I wake up early enough, I boogered up the first one I pulled. PN for the WJ clip is 0603 5334 and it's the same part number for a 94-96 XJ so you should be able to pick it up cheap with overnight shipping at the dealer if you really need to, MSRP is under 2 bucks.

Did you need to use that clip? I didn't grab that from the JY when I got my booster. From the looks of that write-up you should be able to use the stock XJ nut/bolt...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Depends on the pedal assembly you have... I know that an 89 and possibly a 90 have a bolt. I know that a 91 and 94-96 have clips, later on models probably have clips too. 92 and 93 I assume have clips because 91 and 94 do and it seems like it would be silly for them to switch back and forth. If you are careful with the stock clip or bolt while removing it I don't see why you couldn't reuse it; I did.

ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

damn I gotta find another spot to park the XJ for a while, the city put up "no parking 5am-9am for street cleaning" signs :(

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Anyone got a good source for rubber plugs like the ones around the edge here:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/GMK-4020-512-69S/

Ideally looking for some in the 1 1/2" or 1 1/4" size and would like some 3/8" and 1/2" too.
I can't seem to find them that aren't wicked expensive.
No, I don't want metal plugs or plugs like this.

Thanks! :)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i'm going to gun for those leaves, although i kinda am low on money. i need some stiffer / taller leaves since my OMEs are shitting the bed again.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

pffft, VW. I am very tempted to drive down for this

http://newhaven.craigslist.org/cto/1713425448.html

Except I have next to no free time and no way to get a ride down there for the next 2-3 weeks, so I am SOL. (FWIW that CTS-V is a no-go. The guy gave me a call last night and said he already had someone on the way but if I could show up first with $$ it was mine... plus he raised the price $1000, I just went back to working on the Jeep)

Edit: damnit, looks like I am stuck at work until 6 or 6:30 and wont be picking up my shafts tonight :( Guess tonight will be spent prepping everything else so I can throw it all together tomorrow.

X2... I can't stand that body style for some reason. I'd take a 74-78 Mustang any day of the week but I have enough vehicular toys right now.
