Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ch-ch-ch-check it.

cool beans. I think the major modifications he's talking about is making the spacer ring for where the shifter rails go and all that kinda junk :dunno:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

clearly never owned one.
one of the nicest sounding motors ever! with the exception of it being a low output i loved the 5.0 that was in my old ford it took a XXXXing beating same cant be said for the shitty aeod auto that was behind it, i miss that truck

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I wanted a fox body for a while like I said but when I finally drove one (my buddies 89 Saleen) I was sold. It was quite nice. I have been shopping for a 'steal' ever since then. Figure I got both my bikes for great prices since I waited and took my time shopping... I will do it again now that I don't need a car.

And I just had a pulled pork sandwich. Now I have no motivation at all to go work on the Jeep. I am starting to wonder if I should bother cleaning the other backing plate down, might just not bother and use it as-is.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I hate how the 5.0s sound when they rev down. Maybe it's just me, whatever

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

first of all... Garmin, a 2+ gigabyte self extracting EXE?! REALLY!? Thanks for making my computer move as fast as a paraplegic tortoise. And I don't even want to know how much space this is going to take uncompressed.

fyi for those talkin about pre 95 fuel pumps between 91 and 95 there were 3 diff ones i got a 92 pump in my 95, it works but gauge reads backwards and pump is loud
Yikes, thanks for the heads up, guess I get to figure out how to set things up then. PS Colin, I'm sitting next to my new MJ tank and it definitely only has two locating tabs

Mark wants to drive down to PA and buy a 79 Cherokee Cheif :dunno:
Where in PA? If it's the eastern end I might be interested in tagging along or caravaning down sometime, I seem to recall there being an M35 on the outskirts of Frenchtown NJ that had a for sale sign on it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Thats a negative on the trip Ross, when I actually sat down and looked at it more, it isn't a Cherokee Chief, its a Wagoneer. Its really never a good thing when the person selling the vehicle doesn't even know what they own. Plus the price went up.

I started feeling a popping in my steering on Sunday when I wiggled the wheel back and forth. Finally looked today, thought it might be a TRE, but nope, its the sector shaft in the steering box.

Also, my temps get high when I come to a stop, but then usually go down once I start going again. Usually indicative of a thermostat or water pump? (Both of which were replaced earlier this year)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That sounds like a radiator to me... either that or the mech fan clutch is on the way out.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

is it just me or does nac not know the proper use of thier, their, and there today?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Bam, and with that the disk brakes are almost done.

Regarding the calipers... damnit ford! The drivers side caliper has the splitter or T thing connected to the soft line (whatever it's called, the thing that splits the rear brake fluid to the two sides). I either have to plug up one of the outlets on the splitter or buy another passenger side soft line (which doesn't have the splitter) and hope it matches up to the drivers side caliper OK. Not really a big deal, just an annoyance and another $17 out of my pocket.

Anyway, off to add another coat of paint to the backing plate and to look for my flaring tool. Hopefully the tool is in my garage bag, otherwise flaring waits till tomorrow when I have light to dig around in the shed.
