THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

search crazedlist.com; I just did a quick search in MA/NH/RI and found a few 16-22 gallon cells for ~$100. Could probably find a pump too. If you expand the search to include anywhere along your drive to PA I'm sure you could find something to pick up.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm looking at the HDPE fuel cells that Summit sells right now actually. I'm not looking for extreme durability or anything else; I really just want something that holds about 18-20 gallons of gas and pumps it at the pressure and volume required to please my fuel injection. The tank cost me 75 bucks brand new with mounting straps (thanks Steve!) and I would love to use it but my fuel pump assembly is so rusty that I'm afraid to try and transplant it. A new fuel pump assembly for an MJ is literally impossible to find, every site claims a Bosch one for a 91-93 XJ (Bosch 67628) will fit but just from looking at the picture I can tell that's BS. The one they recommend costs $270 from amazon. I can get a Summit Racing HDPE tank for $170 and an external pump for ~$150 and wind up 50 bucks behind buying the wrong pump.

Actually, this gives me an idea... time to think a bit about how I can build a custom pump assembly.

If you're ditching your MJ fuel tank I want it

Don't forget you'll need a regulator. Add some fittings in there as well. It adds up super quick.
:roflmao:

I think that's actually a universal fixing tool... works on any and all front wheel drive vehicles.

Hmmm... I'll have to check. The other thing is that I want it to fit in the OEM location so it needs to be ~13" tall, ~17" wide, and ~31" long or less.

I may well be doing that, depending on what I come up with for custom sender assembly ideas. You pay what I paid, fits a SWB and comes with mounting straps and a pump locking ring but no mounting bolts.

My 91 has a regulator built onto the injector rail, so I figured I wouldn't need that if I got a pump that puts out about the same as the OEM one (though the 96 would, if I was doing a fuel cell on it.) I keep forgetting how much fittings cost though, thanks for the reality check on that.

Ahh, good point. I always forget the 95- have return fuel rails.
Fittings are expensive. Its not a fun purchase. Without a doubt besides my pump, the fittings were the most costly part of my setup.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Anyone know if the locating tabs on the fuel sender assemblies ever changed position relative to each other? I know they are clocked differently on some years, but I don't know if the angle between them or number of tabs changed.

My current idea (probably a terrible one) is to graft a new fuel sender assembly "bulkhead" plate onto the parts from the inside of mine. Really annoys me because every bit of my sender assembly is working great, it's just got 1/8" of rust on the outside which means there is precious little metal left on the fuel lines and bulkhead itself.

Funny you should post that picture Bill, because I just got a call from Adam and apparently the seats he was going to pick up for me, and had put a deposit down, are no longer. I guess the Jeep was crushed...

Not to be confused with Murphy's Law, as that only happens roughly 60% of the time. Begley's Law occurs 95% of the time.

Mark, wanna help me buy a house? 95% is better than 100%.

you are crazy...what...WHAT!!!! that's the most rediculous thing i have ever heard! why would you want such a thing...

i remember one time when i wanted allergy medicine and i was at work and then i thought about it for one second. somehow working on my jeep entered my brain and then my dad bought me some burritos and then we argued for a little while until my sister drop kicked both of us at the same time WITH THE SAME FOOT!!!

oh, and i think i'm going to buy WJ seats too because Mark is going to buy some and Carmelo: one time I worked on a 1999 saab but it was waaay cooler than the one you worked on until my dad and I began a heated conversation about how godzilla defeated Mothra and how it's next to impossible to kill a huge huge huge huge moth...i mean it's a freakin' MOTH!!!! they have like a million eyes so they can see anything and everything all at once. therefore, they are invincible!!!

WOOOOOO!!!!!! That was fun! Now I know why you do it so often Scott. JK...it was fun though.

I was overexaggerating but you tell a lot of stories that are unrelated to the topics being discussed at that moment...just poking a little fun...nothing personal.

If you can find a way to get my XJ up there without leaving me or you stranded in the wrong spot, you can borrow it. I doubt you'll be able to jump it because the transmission will quit if you stomp on it that hard all at once :roflmao:

Hahah, nice.

Emailed, hopefully they are tan, and in good condition.

I have 1999 saab seats....
What do they look like? Tan?

F*CK junkyards that aren't open on saturdays, and don't update their inventory. I finally found some other tan leather ones, but I guess the guy said they had no drivers seats when I called them.
