Rawr! My gears will be here on Tuesday and I don't have a DD-able car so I can take the Jeep off the road for a week/weekend
:laugh:hey!! I resent that terminology! lol
oh sorry :eyes:hey!! I resent that terminology! lol
I was hurting for money. Have some school bills I need to pay, and if I didn't sell the bike I would not have been able to buy my gears. It's a viscous cirle but I had to do it.You just sold your bike and your calling me a noob? :looser:
It's better to get to work while your Jeep is down for work than not getting to work. And it doesn't rain every day (well, except for last summer) knock on wood.

I'm a little bitter with our guys because they did a "security check" of my cube and dinged me because one of my cabinets was left unlocked, even though everything else was locked up properly.
Guess what was in that cabinet? My lunch. Yeah, that has a huge bearing on the company's information security...
Aside from that, they're a pretty good crew.
(I now have a post-it note in that cabinet that says "lunch materials are not secured to company standards. Sorry" and haven't had a problem with audits in a while)
Make sure you double check the dodge stuff. Could be 32-spline on that one.
I'm not buying it :dunno:
i want to get my GTI running perfectly again![]()
Oh I thought that was why you posted it.
I seriously doubt a fuel cell is going to be cheaper than a new tank. Even if you use an E2000 or similar pump its going to get costly quick.Bill - what'd you get? Also I might need to pick your brain about fuel cells later... I can't find a drop-in replacement for my MJ's fuel pump assembly (the whole thing) anywhere and I might as well go with a fuel cell anyways because it's cheaper than even the wrong fuel pump assembly that every parts shop tells me will fit :smsoap:
Just some hardware I needed. Nothing picture worthy.bill: whadja get?
I'll post up something now, just ain't going to be any pictures for awhile. Sorry.yah, and i'd like to see an update. PLEASE mister!

I'm looking at the HDPE fuel cells that Summit sells right now actually. I'm not looking for extreme durability or anything else; I really just want something that holds about 18-20 gallons of gas and pumps it at the pressure and volume required to please my fuel injection. The tank cost me 75 bucks brand new with mounting straps (thanks Steve!) and I would love to use it but my fuel pump assembly is so rusty that I'm afraid to try and transplant it. A new fuel pump assembly for an MJ is literally impossible to find, every site claims a Bosch one for a 91-93 XJ (Bosch 67628) will fit but just from looking at the picture I can tell that's BS. The one they recommend costs $270 from amazon. I can get a Summit Racing HDPE tank for $170 and an external pump for ~$150 and wind up 50 bucks behind buying the wrong pump.I seriously doubt a fuel cell is going to be cheaper than a new tank. Even if you use an E2000 or similar pump its going to get costly quick.
Of course you could always try to retrofit one of those alum RCI cells and try to use an XJ sender. I'm just not sure I like that method, though I can't comment much as I haven't and will not run it.
