Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

aussie needs to get there shit together and come out with a XXXXing 60 locker already:flamemad:

ive spent the past hour on pirate tryin to figure out WTF my 70 came out of, i know it came out somthing in the late 60's/early 70's but could of came from a chevy. ford, dodge or Kaisier Yipee:smsoap:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so aweesome...

i installed my aussie today, and it fought me to the tooth and bone all the way through the install. carrier took a good hour of prying, swearing, and pulling on a strap attached to a slide hammer (thanks Adam!). my vice isn't bolted down to my workbench well enough so torquing the ring gear bolts was a BITCH. and..... apparently I installed the pins and springs opposite (springs where the pins should be) so it's not perma-locked. thankfully I won't have to completely tear it apart to fix it, but damn it's a pain in the ass!

/rant

aren't aussies supposed to come with instructions? mine didn't...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i didnt have any issues like those with my aussie or lockrite, my aussie did come with instuctions, did you use the thrush washers from your 30 side gears on the aussie?

yep, reused the thrust washers and all that jazz. i just can't leave my jeep unattended at my shop since it's too small to close the door when i'm working on it, so i couldnt go home to verify via pictures online and shit.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

and what should i paint my JCR bumper with?
depends what you want to spend. I have line-x on mine, but I was also dating a girl who's father owned a franchise when I did it. I dont want to think about what it would cost me now.

I am impressed with how my JCR sliders are holding up. 3 coats of POR-15 and 2 coats of chassis black over that. last time I went out, I scraped them plenty, and you wouldn't know it by looking at them

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

There's what appears to be a ford 9 under an 89 ford f-series at sams all the way in the back... Couldn't tell what f-series it was, but it's red, appears to be srw and has 5 lugs. Anyone who wants one should grab it

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Did they have any dana 60s? I need one a thoseeeeeeee

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

how hard should it be to take a pitman arm off? i got a puller on it and a breaker bar giving it everything i got and its on there so damn tight. i already broke one puller and dont want to break another one.

some come off easy, others are a real bitch, if you dont plan on reusing the arm take a angle grinder with a cut off disc to it

This is what I've had to do to the last 2 or three I've taken off. They are always a pain in the ass.

Just be pretty careful you don't cut into the splines on the sector shaft.
