THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

There's what appears to be a ford 9 under an 89 ford f-series at sams all the way in the back... Couldn't tell what f-series it was, but it's red, appears to be srw and has 5 lugs. Anyone who wants one should grab it
Not 100% sure about how they were in 89... but I think that would be a 65" WMS-WMS axle, and it's either an F150 or 250. Unless they changed stuff the 350s got an 69" 8 lug axle

Edit: :roflmao: you know you ordered a hell of a grinder (not something that's usually on a menu) when the guy who made is rings you and and says "man, thats one good looking sandwich"

Cmelo - dunno, I didn't see any 60s but I didn't know how to ID them. There were an assortment of large axles with both srw and dually hubs, the 9" just stuck out to me because I don't see em as much as axles with cast/forged center sections.

Scott - good to know

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Anyone know if there was an XJ that came with back seats that would fold individually like a 60/40 set up?
nope, but Sawzall does carry a nice line of split fold seats :firedevil

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so aweesome...

i installed my aussie today, and it fought me to the tooth and bone all the way through the install. carrier took a good hour of prying, swearing, and pulling on a strap attached to a slide hammer (thanks Adam!). my vice isn't bolted down to my workbench well enough so torquing the ring gear bolts was a BITCH. and..... apparently I installed the pins and springs opposite (springs where the pins should be) so it's not perma-locked. thankfully I won't have to completely tear it apart to fix it, but damn it's a pain in the ass!

/rant

aren't aussies supposed to come with instructions? mine didn't...

i did the same thing with my pins. but i went and looked online cuz the specs were all off after i put it in

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

how hard should it be to take a pitman arm off? i got a puller on it and a breaker bar giving it everything i got and its on there so damn tight. i already broke one puller and dont want to break another one.

crank it down

hit with sledge

crank down

hit with sledge

crank down

hit with sledge

sooner or later it will come off

hitting it with the hammer will help "break" it free and you will notice that after each significant hammer hit you can get it a little tighter.

i have removed a half dozen pitman arms off of old-ass rusty shafts without ever needing to use heat or cutting tools

if you didnt get it already, try hitting it from the side+ tons of pb.
if you need another stock pitman, I have a couple.

edit; didnt see ktm's post. n/m.

mine came off my 93 (first time it's moved since it was put on i reckon) with an advance auto puller and a nasty ass impact no problem.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So I have been debating whether or not I should paint my Jeep black, and I am still kindof thinking about semi-gloss black over the red so it will scrape through and the red will maybe show through from light scratches.

Maybe I will just paint it gold, like rustoleum metallic gold :laugh3: Or maybe black with gold accents (i.e. bumpers/rockers/etc gold) :roflmao: Would make the Jeep stand out a bit at least

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Went through a pain today to upgrade my axle shafts to the bigger joints. Didn't realize the hubs changed at one point and my rotor was catching on my knuckle and not allowing it to move. Called egon and he told me what to do. Had to swap my old hubs onto the new shafts. My impact made extra quick work of the axle nut.

This is the ONLY way to do it right. My pitman arm popped right off of my 30 year old steering box.

Don't use air. Go slow. Remember, an impact gun doesn't do anything your hands cant with leverage. You shouldn't even need much leverage though.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

IDK what TBI setup would work for it.

Some people are talking about grabbing a GM setup, larger injectors, and having someone like turbo city burning the chip to match their engine?

Aftermarket kits are like $1500

XXXX paying $1500 do it yourself. Not saying you have to go with GM but I know it's easily possible.

Shut up and look at this:
