THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

How wide were the axles in those things stock?

Similar to xj, those are narrow track axles which are the same as "waggy axles" which are of course narrow track FSJ axles that everyone puts under their xjs so they don't have to narrow some other 44 to fit under an xj all nice. If you've seen colin's xj he has a narrow track width ford 44 under his jeep.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I thought that they were about the same width. I was thinking that IF some day down the line I get a FSJ I may be able to swap the 9" into it... not sure how the strength would compare from stock the the 9" I have now, but swapping the 9 would save me $$ to regear another axle.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

A 9" swap into a FSJ would be gay, I would sell it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I really need to finish the projects I have already before I get another project vehicle.

Good thing the weather looks nice for Sunday... anyone feel like helping put an AW-4 in an XJ in the driveway? I can probably handle it myself but will supply beer and hotdogs/burgers if anyone feels like showing up  ESPECIALLY anyone who has actually done it before.

Thinking I may do the SYE at the same time, since I'll have the driveshaft out anyways. It'll vibe badly since the new axle won't be going in and I won't be shimming it, but I can always FWD it if the MJ has problems.

I may be able to stop by later in the afternoon/evening if you are still working. I have to drive out to central MA for some easter party thing and idk when i will be heading home from said party. I will give ya a call whenever I leave to see if you are still working if you want. How far off the pike are you?

Fun. Yeah call me whenever, I'm in central Worcester so about 6 miles off the pike if you take the rt146 exit. I live on Lee Street, drive down the street till you see a white MJ or XJ parked on the street and I'll be around somewhere. The XJ will probably be parked out back with no tranny in it if all goes well.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

some orange things showed up today
Sweet!

On a totally different and bad note:
For those that live in MA, keep your darn vehicles registered. Finding simple liablity coverage has proved to be problematic. I have been in contact with four different agents over the last few weeks. None of them can get coverage for a vehicle without plates in MA.

I got this from the last agent today:
Last chance for insurance in MA said:
I am sorry to say I have exhausted all my options for finding coverage for your 1997 Jeep. In 46 of the 50 states, coverage is available however, Massachusetts is not one of those states.
There are other options I have being a property owner in VT, but that won't be the case for all you.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah.... no. :D

So, what's the consensus? Tom Woods or High Angle?
No need to start bashing, if you must... PM me.

Oh, and NO I can't reuse a stocker out back.
i was talkin with sean awhile back, hes been using tom woods shafts with alot of luck, ill prob go with them when time comes, with that bein said ive seen 2 tom woods shafts break on the trails but both were due to rig setups, one was a yj stock wb with clayton 5.5" coil convertiona dnf 36's driver beats the shit out of the jeep, other was a xj on 3/4 tons 3.55 gears and 38's both were on the face of mabell

What isn't problematic in this shithole state? Can't wait to go 5 min north :guitar:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

X2 on that, I might be stuck here for quite some time though.

Or I might end up on the other side of the country... or anywhere in between.

I don't really know where my life is going to take me in the next 2 months :dunno:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

get out if you have an opportunity to. That's my suggestion anyway...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I might end up in Cali instead :( REALLY hoping I can avoid that.
