THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I've never had to walk and aim my umbrella at rain before.

It was trying to punch me in the face.
Seriously, this is some mean weather. I don't own an umbrella though, so mostly I just had to punch it back, and move fast enough that I wasn't completely soaked...

see, there's your problem. Did you specify which sleeve? Shirts can be tricky, they have 2 sleeves and both look similar. Also, did you describe what a shirt looks like and the different variations of shirt? They may be confusing shirts and pants if you didn't, not to mention the different variations of shirt; putting a pullover shirt on is very different than a button-down shirt.

Those are the kind of details you need to give... I have learned that dealing with the people in our Malaysia facility :banghead:
Yeah. The lab team here is a mind-boggling, enraging disaster of bureaucracy, byzantine procedures, work avoidance, laziness, and complete lack of technical skill. It's quite frustrating to work with/against. Fortunately, this time around, I have them with their backs against the wall and they're going to have to either do the work or admit they have no idea what they are doing. The whole mess of them trying to prove that the test failure is my fault just blew back on them in a big way because they were overconfident and CC'd my boss on every email they sent... as did I... and I just proved that it was because they failed to follow my idiot proof instructions correctly.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

cant get solder on it cus its on the top of a tube but in the middle of the rad

i got it down to bare metal with some careful torch tip cleaners. ill update once i get the jb on there

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

when i lived overseas, it used to rain like this. but the rain would only last 3-15 minutes, then it would go back to being a sunny day. that was a lot nicer.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That'll only work for up to 1/2" taps. You want something a good bit bigger than that.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I was gonna suggest putting it in a vice and turning the tube instead, but yeah, that'd work.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

if you're careful, you can use adjustable wrenches. that works best for chasing threads, not cutting them initially, though.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Well I would be cutting threads. And I thought the taps I was getting were 1/2" but I think I misread something, may be 3/4". I would prefer not to use vice grips for initially cutting the treads... I feel like one of those type of things would work to tap straighter than a vice grip would.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

This picture was from the last rain storm but it already looks like this again. And that is a football feild with 4ft of water.

GODDAMN F*CKING HACKS!!!!!!!!!

as cool as my buddy/boss is, he is such a hack when making things. i almost got up and left he stuff is so ridiculous, it pisses me off. all his tools are sh!t and so disorganized. even if all his drill bits werent dull and rounded ove an been overheated, he still cant drill a nice hole. all he has for welders is sticks and they suck balls. he believes Property Class 8.8 bolts are stronger then regular Grade 8's. hes way too cheap to buy the right length bolts and just cuts bolts down and tries to weld them in place (in the holes that he made all wallored out)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

do i want soldered ends for my cb antenna wire or hermetically sealed?

or molded?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I usually crimp, solder ones aren't too bad though.

EDIT: Wow Ross, that blows, I don't even use tools that are that screwed up and I'm pretty big on the :gee: fab when it comes to metalwork. Why does he believe PC8.8 bolts are stronger than grade8? Just too lazy/stubborn to look at a bolt strength table? If you need to convince him otherwise, ask him which is bigger, 50 liters or 50 gallons.

Just saw your classifieds thread... I'll be at Sam's at some point this Saturday if you wanna show up and pull stuff. I gotta hit the ZJ/WJ row for some ABS parts and a booster/MC anyways, the MJ's MC is most definitely hosed and I figure I should upgrade while I'm at it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

solid flanges ordered, no more ordering now need to save up again

hes just to stupid to know what a bolt strength table is. his mind there are two types of bolts, Grade 8's and then just regular non graded bolts. its soo f*cking annoying.

He legit had me take a roughly 5" long 8.8 bolt, cut it down to fit it a 2" spot (since it has like a 3" nonthreaded shank, cut the head end and half the threaded end off), stick weld the no longer existing head into a wallowed out 3/4" hole (now, not only its it wallowed out, its a metric bolt already smaller then 3/4"), use a bunch of washers on the other end, and expect this to hold as the PIVOT point for the wheels below to support the crane above used to lift the A/C machines on roofs (this pivot uses no means of lubrication, just flat plate sitting on top of each other with a bolt in the middle).
