THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah, at least this weather is supposed to be gone soon (well, for a few days at least). Then again I would rather get the rain now and have a dry-ish summer rather than having sh*tty weather/rain all summer like last year... though rain now may lead to lotsa mosquitoes later. Damnit.

And I can't wait for the nice weather. Hopefully I have my rear disk brake adapter stuff in by Thurs/Fri though idk if I will be able to pull the bearings off the axles or more importantly press the new ones on... but that is a completely different story.

Sucks that half of the nice weather this wkend will be spent not working on the Jeep. I have to meet the grandparents in central MA sat afternoon (taking them to dinner) and wont be back until later at nihgt. Then i get to wake up early on sunday and head to an easter party or something at my other grandmothers house since my family is kindof wicked religious and would hate me if I didn't show up. So half of saturday and all of sunday is gone. :( Though if sunday is nice I will be riding the motorcycle to the grandparents house so at least I can look forward to that.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Looks like I'll be heading for manchester friday night, junkyard saturday morning, reorganize/compact storage unit saturday afternoon, somerville saturday night, probably work on the jeep sunday... gonna be a busy weekend and it's still 3 days away!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

no basement ftw!!! and we just got new shingles so my house is nice and dry though my street looks like a river.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

for once I'm glad I live in a third floor apartment on the side of a hill. Everyone else will be floating around in old bathtubs and refrigerators by the time I start worrying about water.

I guess I would have to find a better place to park the Jeeps though.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i wish mine was running. built jeeps are the ultimate weather-escape vehicle, in my opinion.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I dunno... again my M35 fanboyism makes me think you're wrong :eyes:

I guess they were built by AMC and Kaiser Jeep though, so they could be considered the biggest Jeeps ever.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

awesome!

I'm smelling gas fumes stronger and stronger these days, so that might be just in time :roflmao: I think the top of the tank is likely rusted through.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

good news i think my radiator is savageable. small pinhole i found i think it should be solderable.

I'll absolutely grab that then.
No blowing yourself up.Ken.
Unless there are jet engines or black powder involved.:gee:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I drove my XJ with stronger gas fumes than this every day for a year without problems... I should be fine. But yeah, it's worrying me a little.

I think it's about due for a fuel return line as well, since AMC/Chrysler made those out of steel even though they made the fuel pressure line out of stainless. Gonna be a busy day of wrenching...

(I'll give you a call beforehand if I'm gonna blow myself up with a jet or black powder, I want that shit going on youtube)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

just think of it this way...with the hole in the gas tank you only need to stop for gas when it's not raining...puddles replenish your go-go juice

http://www.amazon.com/Milwaukee-266...sr_1_200?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1269966015&sr=1-200

vs.

http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item...group_ID=24645&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog

Similar torque and battery life. The milwaukee is slightly smaller and comes with two batteries. The Snap on is $550 and the milwaukee is $380. Also the snap on comes with one battery and the milwaukee comes with 2 and I pretty much need two batteries. An extra snap on battery will set me back $200 which is about as much as a cordless milwaukee sawzall would cost(comes with another battery). I'm leaning towards the milwaukee since it seems to beat the snap on in every aspect except possible warranty. The snap on can be rebuilt for $90 but the milwaukee has a 5 year warranty on defects and craftsmanship? Don't know what that means but the gun as a bare tool costs $150...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

milwaukee for sure.

Hell, buy a Crapsman one for all I care. I did, got their extra warranty, I think it + charger + warranty + 2 batteries set me back 150 total. I already completely shattered one (it wouldn't even make noise) and brought it back, got a free replacement. After my run down to NJ for a drivetrain in mid-January it came back completely soaked and covered in mud, my fix was to wash it off in the shower, I also washed off the batteries and charger. After letting them all dry for a few days it has worked perfectly since.

EDIT: hahaha, I just got an article from Sears titled "is your vehicle ready for heavy rain?"

um, yeah...

A craftsman impact doesn't touch what the milwaukee or snap on ones put out. I wasn't even considering a milwaukee until I saw it puts out the same torque. Things is i'm going to use it everyday. At work, my girlfriends garage, junkyards and etc... I know the snap on will hold up and i've used the snap on one alot and like it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

oh yeah, I was talking about their sawzall... I know it's not as good but I've pulled multiple axles at the JY with it so far, no complaints!

I'd go for the milwaukee 'cause I'm a cheap bastard like that.
