THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

now i have over a foot, a house full of oily smelling smoke, and a constant buzzing. the water in the basement might be electrified

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

:scared:

What's the oily smelling smoke from? hope it isn't the furnace...

I'd start considering walking around down there with a 5 gallon pail on each foot, you probably should pull the main breaker/fuses.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yeah, it's the furnace. i think it has water in the bottom.

i have been trying to think of things tall enough to walk around the water in, i might have 2 5 gal buckets, actually. don't fall in though. that's a good idea, ken! i don't know what, if anything, tripped, either... :(

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I speak from experience... my parents basement had the same thing happen.

Just make sure you don't use something so big that it's so buoyant it tips over when you stand in it. The 10 gallons of water you'll displace maximum should weigh around 80 pounds, so they won't float and you won't have to worry about capsizing.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just saw your classifieds thread... I'll be at Sam's at some point this Saturday if you wanna show up and pull stuff. I gotta hit the ZJ/WJ row for some ABS parts and a booster/MC anyways, the MJ's MC is most definitely hosed and I figure I should upgrade while I'm at it.

what time are you heading up there? idk if it would be worth it to pull all that crap off in the junkyard or just buy some new ones frome the stealership

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i have no water pressure because the electric well pump is under water. of all times in life, i have the urge to poop now.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Probably around 10, not sure. My parts list is pretty big, and it keeps getting bigger... damn jeeps keep breaking!

pulling a WJ ABS controller, left front WJ ABS sensor, driver door latch mech (might buy this one new, haven't decided), some random small stuff, an 8.25 cover, a WJ booster/master cylinder, a 95/96 washer fluid tank, and probably the booster spacer from a 95/96.

According to my parts DB, the caliper bracket is gonna be like 90 bucks each at least, backing plates are gonna be like 20 each.

EDIT: Anthony, sounds like time to eat out

yeah... thanks. i'll be sure to post up how it goes.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

call the electric company and request they cut your power for a few min while you go down there?

i thought of that, but i don't think they can kill just 1 house, can they?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

They can, but it'll be a couple hours at least iirc, and getting them to turn the power back on again afterwards will take another call probably... the only way they can disconnect power to one house is to send someone up the pole to physically disconnect the lines, or to pull the meter. If you can have them pull the meter temporarily I would do it - heck, I'd say to pull it yourself except for that tamperproof tag they install.

EDIT: Ross, I would unstick her from there post-haste :eyes:

easiest way to kill power to a single building is to pop the meter off. only takes a second and just twists off. ask me how i know :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yeah i thought of that too. the tamper proof tag looks to already hath been tampered with, too... we'll see.

yeah, that's what i thought of too. i don't see the reason to not pop the meter off...

no way, i'd leave her there and have your damn way with her.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Not if he doesn't want other issues.

ive never had a problem afterwards :dunno: just clip it tight on one side, then afterwards slip it back on. it wont lock completely, but it appears it.

haha now i look like a hack, but thats what weve done for the shop during/after the fire. both the people the electric company sent did the same thing
