THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The way you quoted it, it looks like it just means "find the value for steel in the back of the book else you get the wrong answer" but I bet if you make note that it doesn't specify alloy, or bolt grade, and say you're assuming grade 8, you'll get points for it and maybe even bonus points. I got full credit on a project at one point that was only 75% complete (by the assignment's rules anyways) simply because I said "here is the simulation for this half, and here is a full working design for the rest that I can order parts for today, but I can't put this other part in the simulation because there is no model for the chip I used. This chip results in my design exceeding design spec by an order of magnitude while coming in 50% under budget." Really depends on the prof though.

Nah, this is my graduate aerodynamics class, and the professor expects us to use sound engineering judgment on assumptions. So I'm going to have to dig out my ME design book to find out the different yield stresses of various grade bolts and make assumptions of the other zillion variables which make a difference.

bought it, should be here by fri also got 199 lives, i think tonite i will place a order from summit for the socket for the 70 and the 2 exhaust bends
Sweet!
I guess you did the same thing I did. "Hmm.... ok I guess I'll get the kit. Someone is bound to pull a Colin on the trail and forget the tools to take apart their front end." :D

Oh, the firesleeve has just been ordered.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

likewise, time to head home and pass out.

Spent most of today researching my next project at work while waiting for tests to finish... gotta wrap up the rest of the tests soon. Hope I don't make too many 8-hour typos!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

why not click jalopnik links? So far you missed that and a 4 way jet-powered drag race.

Though I won't lie you link had more direct info/photos. I can't bitch and moan too much :D

cmelo posted that not me, i clicked on yours :D

Yeah, that "you missed a" part was directed at cmelo. :D

you got an engineering background?
I do, you need EE's or CPE's? My buddy down in NC that I went to school with is an EE and is looking to move back up to the NE area. I am a CPE and may or may not be looking for a job in a month. (I hit my 1 year point with my company next month, depends how the coming month(s) go for me) I am getting sick of not actually using my CPE background since I do mostly sales engineering at my current job. It's not bad but the daily stress of "if the customer decides to buy less product you are out of a job" kindof sucks. Makes buying a house or any other major investment kindof tough.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

my basement flooded again.. :(

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ours is gettin wet and we live at the top of a hill

this rain is nuts

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

wet basements ftw! hah

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I think mine is a little wet too. Just from the gutters being full and the water coming down through the cracks in seams of the foundation.

Bilstein 5150's any good before I drop $100 on them? How hard are they to rebuild when they do give out?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

5150s are nice, but they're not rebuildable

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

this weather is insane, at least it looks like it's only going to be this way for the days I expect to be pulling crazy hours at work. Thursday/Friday I foresee being able to leave at 1700 and the weather is looking great :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ghey, I thought I read some where they were. Is it only those 7100s or something? I just need something longer than my rusty's shocks for a 3" kit when I have RE 4.5 coils. And for the time being I'll just mount the rears up higher on the axle.
