THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ask him what TIG and MIG actually stand for, then ask him where the Tungsten is with his set up.

Then kick him in the n*ts for thinking that TIG/MIG came on the same machine. (I'm sure there are very costly industrial units that come like this, but lets face it, most people won't have that)
it's really really not worth it...

stupidity is contagious, the only way to avoid being infected is to limit contact

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hey is that radiator sitting on the ground any good?

As Ross said that is just the AC condensor. But I do have the radiator sitting under my deck. The coolant was pretty gross, but I ran water through it in every which way until it was all nice and clean. You need one?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

For a trackbar... is it OK to use RHT on both ends? Granted I wouldn't get as much freedom to adjust the length but I wouldn't think the trackbar rod would have to be AS perfectly adjusted as, say, a tie rod would. I am thinking that I will use the summit machine flex joints for trackbar ends (at each end) and it would be cheaper to only need to buy be one tap to buy instead of 2 if both ends could be RHT.

Also, big question here... is there anyone that lives out near southampton, MA who may have free time some day this wk to pick up some steel from Marmon for me? I could paypal the $$ or bring cash with me when I pick it up... I planned on taking off from work early either late this week or next week to get out there myself but I am going to be out that way on sat & sunday this wkend so avoiding another trip would be awesome. I don't even know how long of a lead in time there is to get steel from that place, I was busy today and didn't get to call. But tomorrow should be slower so that will give me time to call... just figured I would throw the question out :)

nothing wrong with using RHT or LHT on both ends of anything, whether it's a trackbar, control arms, tie rod, whatever. Just as you said, you lose the ease of adjustment.

Can't help with picking up steel, sorry :eye:

itll work but for a TB its cooler to have the adjustablity. trackbar and steering should have RH/LH, theyll be adjusted way more then links down the road.

I dunno, depends on the track bar IMO. If it's going to be a shaped one to clear the diff housing, who cares? You can't just spin it anyways, might as well save money if you can. If it's going to be a perfectly straight one, yeah, I'd go LH+RH.

For the tie rod and other steering goodies? I would never use anything except LH+RH.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah, it's going to be straight I think, made of the same 1.25" OD .219" wall stuff I'm using for the tie rod and drag link. I guess I will get the LH/RH taps then. I plan on raising the mount up a bit on the axle side and dropping it down some on the frame end. Then getting a drop pitman arm if I need it. I heard that the more horizontal the draglink/tie-rod the less of a dead spot you have with the 1-ton ends (well it true for everything, I suppose it's just more noticeable with the 1-ton ends?) I may not go all the way to needing a drop pitman arm to get my angles right, but we will see.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

amazon had the 2-9/16 socket too so i bought that was cheaper then summit too, and in stock

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

What brand? I imagine you will be putting some fairly significant torque on that nut, would hate to buy a socket only to have it break on the first use
