THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You should put a gantry crane on the ceiling, I think it'd help out a lot.

Or even an overhead traveling crane if you suddenly won the lottery.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Damaged threads still work great. They're what I like to call "one time use threads" so dont even worry about it. Just make sure when you tighten everything up that's the last time you wanna take it apart.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You should put you big boy pants on and just shove the axle shaft through the wall.

Or just slide the right stand forward and the left stand back so you can get the right shaft out and do any other work you got to do on that side.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i thought about a ceiling hoist when i first got the container, but the tops on them are just sheets of aluminum with small aluminum crossbraces. jsut putting a strip of wood and the lights on it changed its shape a little bit.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I don't think I've been this sore since... oh... yeah last weekend when I put the axle in.

cut down so many trees at RC, I can't wait till we do that again :gee:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have told myself I'm not gonna join a club up here till I make my jeep wheelable again. At a minimum that means getting the new axles and transmission in... weather's looking good for a tranny swap in the driveway next weekend!

Which do you think I should join? I've only really heard of DWE and UJ.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Good luck torquing them with a screwdriver and hammer. Really the socket is needed to do it correctly.

oh i know. i have a socket. but i was referring to the 6 pin being stronger than a 4 pin in my head.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yeah, that sucker is heavy. I can pick up a 30 no problem, 8.25 no problem, 8.8 with a little pain... just one end of that axle nearly killed me when it still had the drum brakes on it.

i was doing curls with marks d35 yesterday. we should have an axle throwing contest, maybe like just a d35 housing. i wanna see who would place second.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

A d35 housing? I bet I can throw it at least 4 feet :eyes:

I'll have another one pulled as soon as I get around to putting my new 8.25 in the MJ.

That axle did not have any backing plates or brakes.

But yes, that was pretty impressive, he literally curled the axle.
