THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

colin, looks like good work. nice.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

speakin of wheelin better then others, the fact still remains that none of rigs have made it through lower wambus complely un assisted(Travis may have that nite but i cant remember if he winched the last spot or not)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Better than yours not wheelin.

:D

I still wheel more then half the other people here

:D

YJ or durango. discuss.

if theres any plans for hydro assist, xj box. yj box will take more effort to put in for an extra bolt that wont really do anything. durango box should be a good match for the wj pump. whats wrong with another xj box?

i have a score to settle there

no plans for hydro, for the YJ box i wouldnt use the extra bolt, and i heard with the durango box its a crapshoot with some spacer in there that doesnt give you lock-to-lock turning. and i figured id upgrade.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah the only Jeep tcase I know that's a pain is the Quadracrap ones. They use Mopar fluid only.

Or the Crown TCL-1 which is the same stuff but $4/quart instead of $20each from Mopar!

Spent the weekend getting the harness out of Carmelo's old jeep (thanks again d00d).

His ****box

Nice MJ!

Colin/Carmelo...could you snag me the little spring thing on the steering wheel that helps set up the horn button contact? I seem to be missing the spring & little thingy for the J20 and it's the same as the XJ.

I would if I didn't already steal the whole column

I'll have one out of either this column or the other column I have upstairs in my garage. Remind me.

Does anyone know if Ballistic fab has a NAXJA discount/coupon code? If ya know could ya PM me info :)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I can't complain too much about not driving my Blairwitch right now, since I am driving my dad's '09 Civic. That thing drives so nice.

I spent so much money on tools and crap this weekend, and new brake parts. Nice thing is though that every line is going to be brand new, including the rubber lines.

Thinking about buying a bubble flair tool.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I thought bubble flares were just double flares without the second step?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So my new(Anthony's old) t-case has a different speedo gear an it makes my speedo read the correct speed. It makes driving so easier and I find myself drive 5-10mph under the speed limit because I forget I don't have to correct it in my head. Damn luxuries and correct working parts!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That would be a single flair.

Bubble flairs are bubbled out.

I'll find a pic.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Seems what I thought was a bubble flare was nothing useful at all. You can approximate a bubble flare with a double flaring kit (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVbHk0kkX8k) but can't do a real one I guess.

EDIT: and no, I don't mean a single flare

Unlike that guy, I'm not approximating jack sh*t when it comes to my brake system. I have no problem spending the $22 to get the correct kit, and not have to worry about the fitting leaking or anything.

That video is nice and all, but I think that guy is just taking the cheap and incorrect way out.

Agreed. I don't do anything but proper double flares now, haven't for a while. When I first fixed my XJ's brake system I had no idea what I was doing and used single flares and compression fittings :scared:

EDIT: the only thing worse than the video (and the other video I saw, where some tard drilled out a brake fitting and probably screwed up the inside of the flare nut badly instead of just using pliers to remove the old line) is the comments on it. There are some real dumb people out there.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Bubble flares are stupid. Dont buy the a bubble flaring tool, they're gay. Double flares work just dandy and are more cool.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have seen and heard of many people using the first step of the double flaring tool kit as a way to get a bubble flare but you don't always get a true bubble from what I've seen. Luckily when I replaced all my lines recently I only needed double flares. I was expecting bubbles on the master cylinder.

nice. i started reading that post and i was worried you were going to say something was going wrong with it. did you attach a breather tube?
