OMG U GRINDED DOWN THE BUSHINSSS!?

i drove 200ish miles today

got a skid plate
got hot dogs
got a 95 4.0 with 130k miles
and kielbasa

Gah, I'm sitting here trying to talk myself out of picking up a set of dunlop elite3's for the bike. So close to pulling the trigger.... I think that may be my gift to myself whenever the tax returns come in.
michelin pilots /topic.

I mountain bike alot... havent really gotten too crazy lately, but a few years ago,I started doing trial stuff like dropping off 4ft+ ledges, stairs and other stuff.
I havent been to Lynn woods in a loooong time.
I do remember this place in Mass called vietnam. They had wooden raised ramps and see-saw stunts and all that jazz.
Id like to go ride soon.
my cousin lives a mile from vietnam. my uncle has been riding there since the late 70's/early 80's. cool place. overcrowded now... it was sweet 4-5 yrs ago.

i know exactly where vietnam is. milford MA you can see it from 495..exit 19ish.
there's a pull off on the trail where you can cross the fence and overlook the highway. pretty neat.

edit: i hate my life a li'll bit. damn hot girls at bars and being in a relationship. it's so hard to remind yourself that they're hot girls only and not good for more than a month... ughh...

and kielbasa
I love kielbasa. :D May be the 50% polish in me or that kielbasa just kicks ass... Either way Kielbasa kicks ass.

You find me some pilots in a 16" front and 15" rear size which will fit an FZX700 and I will be happy... I'm fairly certain there are no radial tires that fit my bike. I get to live with bais ply tires since I ride a 24 year old bike... and god damn do I love it :D so awesome. On that note, anyone want to ride tomorrow? I have spent the last 2 days doing local rides but would love to go somewhere...

Yeah, I drive through a local campus every morning. None of the bars seem to have much action going on while I am around though. Usually I get there too early in the night scene (since I hear cops tend to hang around at later hours). Then again it doesn't help that I heard that the local college is a dry campus. That kills the whole getting invited to a random party deal :banghead: I really do think I am going to start showing up to the bars later and just park on the side of the road a mile or 2 away... yeah the walk will suck but I will bypass the cop rush, and ideally I won't have to worry about it at all :D

now i know where you guys are talking about. exit 20 area. there are sweet trails there, i wanna rock the jeep out in there. if youre heading north on 495, theres a sweet rock filled hillclimb right along the side of the road.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just an FYI for Keith, I would use ONLY Dex/Merc III in the AW4 and I would use it in ANY transfer case as well (probably not as important here but as Mark said, I'm pretty sure it calls for it).
Yeah that's what I figured. If it was so important to the tranny there must be something about it that the t-case would like.

soooooo awesome :D

That's sick! I want one! Wait, I have a R6.:guitar:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Hmmm, do I want to buy my motorcycle tires locally and pay approx $40 more or do I want to order them from JCWhitney. Anyone have any experience with JCWhitney? I never ordered from them before..

Though I guess it all depends on if mounting and balancing is factored into the local shops price or if it's free M&B if you buy from them. Plus I think I would rather deal with a a local shop in case a tire is bad, return/replacement would be easier that way.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

go local, support the local business

A lot of MC shops wont M&B tires if you don't buy them from there becaue of that reason. I'd go local, $40 is worth not haveing to deal with the hassle.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yeah, I think I decided on local. The only issue is that they are not necessarily the "stock" size tire (slightly larger) so idk if they will have an issue mounting. I might have to bring the wheels in off the bike which sucks, I would much rather just bring the bike in, lol

Edit: and I love summer. Only issue with it is I do all my errands on teh motorcycle so whatever I buy needs to fit in a backpack. and about 2.5 hours of riding leads to some cold hands

Edit2: Any idea how well something like this might work on an XJ? http://www.ballisticfabrication.com/Steering-Kit-Chevy-Tie-Rod-Ends_p_1338.html

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

youll probly hafta ream out the knuckle and pitman arm
I know. I would have to ream it out either way if I am going to flip the TREs above the knuckle so I figure why not get moog 1-ton TREs and just have them be a bit stronger than stock ones.

And is there any law that there needs to be a mechanically operated speedometer in a vehicle? I was thinking of picking up a cheap garmin nuvi or something and installing it in the dash where the speedometer now is. First things first my XJ will have in dash GPS but also the garmin has the ability to display the speed so I could just use that and never have to worry about speedometer calibration again.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

does your shop test drive it? id say as long as it looks like it works your good to go.

i havent had a speedo for a yr or so now

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Nah they don't test drive it but it would be very clear that it is a GPS unit, so they would be able to tell... just don't want to do this little project and then get a unpleasant surprise hwen I go to get inspected.

Ummm... so on rockauto.com it's giving me the option to buy a moog TRE from "regular inventory" or "wholesaler closeout - private label pkg". The wholesaler closeout apparently only has a 30 day warranty but the TRE is only $12 compared to $38 normally. I assume that this private wholesaler one is just from a store that is going out of business or something, anyone know for sure before I place an order? I don't want to get some crap product because I chose the closeout item, though it is still moog so it cant be that much different :dunno:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ohh your gonna take out the speedo alltogether?

i just use the windshield mount one

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah, plan was to completely take out the stock mechanical one and to mount the nuvi in the dash where the speedo usually is. So instead of having it up on the windshield it would be permanently mounted in the dash

please don't. there's been a problem with people bringing vehicles in there. a few years back about half an acre of forest caught fire on a weekend night... it's pedal power only.
