THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So my Jeep is almost done, for now as I've come up with new plans for the frontend, and I decided to email all the companies that I have bought products from for this build and ask for stickers to put on it. Now I know for a fact that some of these companies actually charge for some of there stickers. I just figured what the hell and made a mass email and just changed the names. So far almost all the companies have returned positive responses with stickers on the way and 1 is sending me a tshirt and another said other goodies. Not one has said no yet. I'm waiting to see who that one is.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i hate presentations with a passion.

good luck.
Thanks, I'll need it. I also hate presentations, at least when they are on subjects I am not sure I know everything about, ever. This one is worse because it's to people from another company... ahhhhhhh!

(time to go through my slides for the tenth time)

yeahh presentations suck.. although mine are in college not in a work setting.. so i guess not as much is on the line, they still suck though

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

just pulled rear shocks and the shackles in record time. :D been doing other stuff too and will continue to, though... back outside.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Cool. You should check the fluid level.

topped off the oil and coolant, put the tires up to pressure, then topped off the brake fluid before i drove it home!
The alternator belts were pretty loose, those are tightened now.

Plans are to pressure wash the bay, look for any leaks, clean up the upholstery(mint shape, aside from 2yrs of fleamarket dirt),
remove the cloth top and spray it with bedliner, some bondo for the rust spots, and fix(re-glue) the headliner.
The more i see it and drive it, the more i like it.
And with the 327, its got some balls.just need to get rid of the electronic fuel crap and 4bbl it, edelbrock style

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

sounds like it should be fun :D Hope the rust isn't too bad, I hate rust.

Any chance you'll be around sometime Saturday? It's looking like Saturday is my junkyard+pilgrimage to NH for parts from various people day this week.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I will be after 4, and ill try to get over to my friends house to grab that gas tank, ken.
and no, the rust isnt too bad...
but i have to replace the alternator tomorrow.which is waaay easy+ quick on this car.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

awesome! Don't worry about it too much if you don't have the time. I'll hit Sam's up in the morning (anything you need? I'm just looking for a 4-output SUV/truck ABS modulator, some steering column plastic+wiring harness junk, and gotta look at rubber brake lines and see if I can find some that'll fit my needs so I know what vehicle to order for online) and then head for your place and Rob's in the afternoon I guess.

EDIT: speaking of which, someone might know this... I might be doing some funky brake work and I'm looking for a really weird brake line as a result. Something about the same length as a YJ rear line (~18"?) with the same 3/8"-24 flare fittings as on an XJ line, except only one hardline port on the axle end instead of two. I seem to recall this coming up in either this thread or Bill's thread but I can't find it now.

EDIT2: alternatively, if anyone knows where I can get, say, a Dorman brake line catalog with applications listed and pretty pictures + specs, that would be amazingly useful. I'm going to check their site now...

wut?
one hardline port?

when looking for brake hoses i use napa online partspro se. they give lengths and pictures for brake hoses. i look up a few that can work in my application, and go to the store and throw part numbers at them until they have something in stock that i can use

Yeah, I'll be using one for each rear brake, with separate lines to the front of the vehicle. I've got a harebrained scheme going (hint: it involves the ABS modulator in the last post I made.) Good idea on the NAPA site, I had forgotten that, I emailed Dorman asking them for an apps catalog but I don't really expect a response. I'll see if NAPA's catalog will tell me useful things.

I need t-case linkage and 4wd shifter for the mj, preferably from a yj. thats about all i can think of for now.and ill be adding a leaf or two on the mj when i lift it,but im not sure yet what ill get it off of. Dakota or xj maybe...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so i think im gonna end up using the rock ratzs rails for the front of the bed, and the rear quarters after cutting them up a little.the JCR sliders should give me enough protection for the cab.

ok, I think sam's has like one or maybe two YJs. I'll see if they're in decent shape.

 when (not if) I replace the rockers on the MJ it's gonna have to be full custom, they're mostly bondo/toothpaste/spackle/whatever godawful mess the previous previous owner smeared on there. I think I could do a better job with my fingers than he did, it's pretty lumpy.

EDIT: Sam this site is awesome, could use a little better search but it's got what it needs. So far I think it's one of the following I'll use...
UP38625 - 17.875" $15
UP38628 - 20" $29
UP36850 - 19.875" $26
UP38044 - 19.875" will need plastic shield removed $16
