THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

awesome,

thinking of which I need some carhartts. Maybe I will pick some up tomorrow after work.

Anyone know what local stores carry carhartt stuff?

there's a Work 'n Gear around here that carries Carhartt stuff... maybe there is one closer to you?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hi. wanna wheel tomorrow?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i'm so tired.... i had planned to take pics and post them, but uh, yeah that didn't happen. damn things are heavy... the front 44 is in, bar pin eleminators out of the shocks, brakes not hooked up, etc. haven't touched the rear. UCA bushings on the 30 are trashed like a freshman. i pushed one of the sleeves out by hand... and it's going to become the new sleeve in the bushing for my shocks :D i'll probably hammer or cut the other one out and use it for the same thing. i'll be pulling the 8.25 first thing saturday morning and i may or may not take the time to bolt the rear 44 up... We'll see.

for anyone that ever needs to remove bar pins, justin had a really good idea. use a 2 jaw gear puller to push it out. i cut one side off and put a 10mm 1/4" drive shallow socket between the point of the puller and the bar pin; it seemed to work well.

I just ran out of coffee.. must be shortly after 10...

So last night I was talking to a college friend who now lives down in NC. He is thinking about getting an SUV since he now has a dog. Still plans on keeping his car too, but wants something else on the side for dog/bad weather and such. He always used to give me crap about how my Jeep was junk when we were in college (even though I was the one who drive around and picked everyone up when their cars broke down or got stuck in the snow :D). It was all in good fun though.

Last night he said he wanted a 99+ AWD SUV with 120k or fewer miles and wants to keep it under $3k. Soon after he had links to 3 XJ's around his area that met his requirements. I think he might be strongly considering buying an XJ now

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I sent a text to a few of you guys, but in case you didn't get one:

We accidentally got in an order of Dana 60 U-Joints at work, and instead of sending them all back, I can keep some handy if there's any interest. They aren't Spicer sorry to say, but they are MADE IN USA and are about half the price of the Spicers.

I will try to get them to the store Monday or Tuesday but if any of you local guys are interested in checking them out, they're nice & beefy. I saw them earlier and they're HUGE compared to the JK Rubicon 44 joints. PM me for more details, just figured I'd offer it out here. Thanks

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

innnnteresting. I'll send you a PM now :)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

need to go home and work on jeep. must pull rear axle.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

tranny mount is on the delivery truck :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm pretty sure my new hood latch cable (thanks Jeff!) and my torque converter for the XJ are on trucks too :D:D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i can't believe how bad my old uca bushings are. i almost feel bad for not warning him that they'll need replacement. silly short arms binding...

Please remove your head from your ass. You should just buy my Nova so i can buy a truck.

(and yes, thats a serious statement. once the tons are under black jeep, i will start to market the nova and sell it to fund a nice cummins)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I also wish.

I gotta admit.. the one thing that is kindof making me take a 2nd thought on buying the MJ is that while I love driving the Jeep and it just feels better than driving the car... I kinda like being in something that handles pretty well. Part of me still wants to get myself an 00-02 camaro SS or firebird WS6.

Oh well. I'm still buying the MJ. Worst comes to worst I already have someone who has been bugging me to sell it to them so I have that fall back if absolutely needed.

Eh, the top one will never happen I'd build a pair of perfect garages and still have money left over.
The bottom one I want to get the wife into once I get some more free cash (ie, after a garage/house built).
As for buying your Nova... eh, it's not the gen I prefer.

In seriousness, I'd be happier to end up with one of these:

who the hell stole Bill's login info and posted non-American vehicles?!?!?!?!!?!?!!?!?!!!!!!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'd probably go for a first-gen Camaro.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

x2, i'm with travis on this one...

but i love ferraris. but that m3 is mighty purdy too. what were they asking for it, if i might inquire?

if i do a build a go-fast car, it's going to be a muscle car. i like my DD to be quick, but not a race car.

Nice, but rather have the GTO.

Ferrari's are amazing machines to be around. I've only seen and sat in two first hand, but by golly you can't not have your face hurt from smiling. The 430 was selling for more than I could build a pair of garages.
The '06 M3 is selling for $29,990, 49kmiles (which is getting up there for that car).

On a car note, my buddy (some of you have met him) just called me and told me he bought this '06 STI. Stupid stupid stupid.
