Its been awhile since I've messed with stocker axles, but I believe the stock D30 and stock 8.25 are exactly the same WMS to WMS measurement.


Depends, if you are planning on putting money into gears and locker anyway, you might as well jump out of the 8.25 and into something else. However, for someone like Scott, (whom I believe already has gears and will probably stick to smaller tires) I'd have to agree with Rob it would be wiser to just spend the ~$125-$140 swapping in ZJ discs.

I plan on doing gears and brakes as it stands now, but I have a 29 spline 8.25 already locked in my Jeep. I figured if i can get a 8.8 for somewhere around 120, buy gears and install kit for 300, then spacers for 100, and a locker for 260, I'd be in for about the same as gears, brakes, and install kit after I sold my 8.25. But now that I spell it out it's almost still not worth it if I plan on staying at 33's for a WHILE.

Anyone need anything off of a 93XJ? The comanche is running pretty good. Aside from the brake line it should pass inspection no problem so it's time to say goodbye to the XJ. I'm 100% jeep truck from this point forward.

So I just go back to my place, went down and helped build our new car for this year (mini baja). After not eating anything since 12:30, I just had some cold pasta, with absolutely nothing on it, not even butter.

I also did some TIG tonight to practice since I haven't welded in quite some time. I still got it, and those stiffeners are going to be awesome.

You know you want to tig some stiffeners on my rig... and maybe my MJ too once I get it. If I get the stiffeners on the MJ then that just means I am on my way to a LS1 swap at some point down the road. But I gotta build the rest of the rig until it can handle the torque... THEN swap in the engine.

Edit: and just took a look at the pulled pork.. this might just be tasty.

Yeah, i just found that a bob's down towards my town carries them.

Problem being that I wanted to pick some up tomorrow but I wont be home in time. And chances are that I will be too short on time to stop by on sat morning (if they are even open early enough).
