dude, I'd kill for that machine. Hell, that's more processing power than it took to run major enterprise database servers about four or five years ago.

yeah, it really is. and remember we have a cluster of basically 16 of those? (granted, the cluster doesn't have video cards or anything...)

i think i'm going to get a 1GB video card too... makes me happy. the crazy thing is, i'm building models that are complex enough to need it. and the crazier thing is i'm not even solving them locally. the computing power we use here is insane. and i know we're not the only ones doing it.

I really done understand how some people cannot form a coherent sentence on CL. I was looking for a dual sport for a friend and found this gem

Presentation I've been stressing about for two or three weeks went excellently, I felt like it was a trainwreck as I was giving it but apparently everyone thought I did pretty good.

I'm ready for it to be weekend now...

Wouldn't the rear be narrower than the front with that 8.8? Unless I'm missing something...
Even with the spacers I highly doubt you'd notice that 1/4" wider stance per side in the rear.

That's why I wanted the spacers so the front isn't that much wider. Good point about the 1/4" each side, I was looking at it in total that it'd be 1/2" wider. But as it stands I'm pretty sure the front is wider than the rear already with the 8.25 out back?

Thanks. Powerpoint on the hardware, firmware, system firmware, and OS handling of recoverable errors (say, translation register corruption, QPI link data packet corruption past what CRC/ECC can correct, etc) and how to validate the behavior of such. If you feed me enough beer, I might even want to look at the slide set again, but I don't think there is enough beer in the world to make anyone else interested enough to listen AND me interested enough to look at the slides again, at the same time.

So glad that's over.
