THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm not sure if it;s the gif that sucks or my computer but after 30 seconds of going frame by frame I lost any trace of intrest in it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Set up the rear end and pull the front shaft. Quit crying about it!
I'm not even worried about pulling the front shaft. I know not to pull 4wd. I just gotta find someone to do the rear end and the local shop runs 8-4 or something liek that... I can't do those hours. I leave at 7:15 AM and get home no earlier than 5 on an "early" day. I showed up last Friday at 4:30 (I left work real early hoping he stayed open till 5) to try and talk to the guy about having the rear axle done with the goal of having it ready to at least drive to lobsters and they were closed (my neighbor/the owner was in the office and I saw him through the window so I could have been a PITA and stopped in, but I don't like being the "after hours neighbor").

and at the same time as much as I bitch and moan about not having the Jeep ready I would prefer to wait for Bob to get back and have both axles done at baystate.. at least that way I know they are done right.

you don't NEEEED a locker to go enjoy the snow. sure.. it helps making kicking the ass end out way easier, but the solution to that is always more skinny pedal!!
I agree.. but I have a rear locker now and all that is holding me back is the fact that something in the axle is facked up.. so having the locker plus having snow plus being afraid to drive it because I dont want to fack something else up = :(

Oh damn, I forgot too. You heading up to lobsters? Could pick the stuff up then. And yeah, The bellhousing would be great. I will throw that on the XJ the next time I do the clutch or transmission and will just find a late model AX-15 with bellhousing for the MJ.

no, i won't be making it up there... i'll be at the UJ thing on friday. the bellhousing and other parts aren't going anywhere. we'll figure it out.

Hmmmm, I forgot about the UJ thing on Friday. Looks like it will be a better weekend than expected. Thanks for reminding me. I think the bellhousing should fit in my car if you want to bring it with you.

yeah, the bellhousing is small enough. i'll grab it. i won't bother with any of the clunky d30 parts though.

If it helps, I'll be at Anthony's tomorrow night and I can bring all that crap with me in the Jeep, and get it to you on Saturday at Lobster's. As it is I've got plenty of crap going there anyhow so whats another pile of XJ crap? :gee: so far it's 2 gas tanks, a fuel cell, a door, a steering column and shaft, brake booster and master cylinder, and a header panel haha

i'm doing a double axle swap tomorrow :gee:

speaking of which, try and get the front axle on it's way out, at least get shit started before I get down there. Not that I don't love ya but I don't really want to be leaving at 10/getting home at midnight, either ;)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yeah. that was the plan, actually. now i have to go try to get my VW out of my driveway...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

good, good plan :)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so i was actually able to pull my VW out w/o shoveling. surprising.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yeah, that is surprising, seeing as it's so GAY.

:D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i have tp purposely tell my dad not to attempt to clean snow off my jeeps. he does the worst halfassed abortion of a job everytime and im always like WTF is it really that hard? its like one of those things that you have to put effort forth to do it wrong.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

$475 = yikes! but it is nice. Very cool to retain the VSS

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

that storm was lame

roads last night were pretty crappy though

the plow trucks on 395 plowed into the grass and you couldnt tell because it was all flat with a sheet of snow.

and the dumb bimbos in the right lane drove just as much in the left lane so i naturally traveled a safe distance while passing and many times i got sucked into the grass.

jeep still kept trackin straight though

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

haha exactly... but I'd feel less bad about slowly building a 300(or a 231/300 doubler :)) than a 231

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'd probably just go for 1.25s and ignore the quarter inch or pump the rear tires up a tiny bit when you actually care if it's level
