THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

As I said in an earlier post... the car I saw MAY BE a 426hemi Charger. Either that or it's a 383, possibly with aftermarket carbs.

Long story short I remember looking at it and the car has dual carbs but I don't remember if they were 4 barrel or 2. The guy who owns the land where it is right now said he THINKS they are 4... If they were dual 4, then it MAY BE a 67 charger with the 426 hemi; or it could be a 66-67 383 with aftermarket carbs. If they were dual 2 barrel, then the car is either 66 or 67 with the 383. If it is the 426 then that is one hell-of-a car and is one of my favorites (and rare as all hell). If it's the 383 then it's still nice but no-where near as hard to find. If it's a 440 upgraded to dual carbs then it is still nice but not as nice as the 426hemi. Really it could be any of the engiens with modified carbs I guess, but if it has dual 4s then that means it has at least a CHANCE of being the 426

Oh I never read all the posts in here, must have skipped over that. Sounds like a sweet car though.

They made dual 2-bbls? That's weird, didn't know that.

jenn and i just saw avatar. holy crap. best movie in recent memory.

Yeah definitely a good flick. Just saw The Book of Eli tonight with Kate, was pretty good as well.

Avatar = A mature rendition of Pocahontas with some fern gully mixed in.

That pretty much sums it up, I thought the same thing.

i am so glad someone else has seen/admitted to seeing Fern Gully

F*ck yeah.

i had that sh*t on VHS

x2.

If I bought this car I feel like I might trust no one here in NAC to drive it :laugh3:.. at the same time I think I would let y'all drive it.. just because. :)

Which car? The hemi charger?

I've driven a hemi before.

:D

And you consider yourself a "mopar maniac".. I'm ashamed... :D  i don't know TOO much but I know better than that :)
yeah, as far as I remember the 383 was the most common engine with dual 2bbl carbs. The 440 had a single 4bbl and the 426 had dual 4bbl... at least thats what they came from from the factory...[/quote]

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

No 383 I've ever seen had dual 2-bbl carbs.

My brother has the original lone 2-bb lon his 68 charger in the garage.

Plenty of dual quads on hemi's, cross-ram wedges, etc.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

all those numbers and stats are working off what I remember.. so I wouldn't doubt some of them are wrong :) But anyway, I will update next time I have true numbers :D

edit, and btw, there are dual 2 bbls

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So I didn't get the brakes fixed today but I did rotate my tires and torque them down properly. I know it was discussed a while ago but I just got around to do re-seating the wheels (after NTB used the impact to put them on and probably torqued one lug down all the way first). The car rides smoother already, even just on back roads. I can still feel a bit of a pulse in the brake pedal... but even at non-highway speeds the car feels exponentially smoother. Actually I can feel the break pedal pulse alot more now, but I think that's largely because the overall ride is so much smoother. I kindof can't wait to go for a drive tomorrow and see how it is on the highway. I would go now, but now it's time for a soco and coke.

I'm still really pissed that Nissan over-torqued the bolts holding the caliper/pad mounting bracket on. I had a socket on the bolt (or a wrench) which I extended with another wrench to get better leverage.. wouldn't budge. I am picking up a set of metric impact sockets and may try to get them off again tomorrow or will go bitch out Nissan on Monday and have them loosen the bolts and re-torque them to proper specs. I think I may call up and ask what they torque the bolts to.. See if they even know the proper torque spec. I have to give Nissan credit on their facked up system, its good/bad all in one. A bracket that bolts on which holds the pads... then the caliper goes on that bracket. Great because it makes changing pads a breeze. Bad because changing rotors is a PITA compared to say on the Jeep where the whole caliper comes off with just 2 bolts.

Soak the bolts in pb and use a breaker bar. They'll come off I promise. Be gentle as possible and keep an eye on the socket to make sure it doesn't XXXX while you're giving mondoleverage. Also the "pad bracket" DOES NOT have to come off to have the caliper off. You can unbolt the caliper and the bracket+pads will stay in place on the rotor. In fact, if you're not changing the rotor you can remove the pads, slap the caliper back on and go.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yo.

I'm probably gonna wait to paint my bumper until this week/next weekend. Way to cold for it now.

Though I will go bolt it on and drill passenger side steering box holes to make sure everything lines up.
