<Tool talk>
I'm going to have to say Kobalt tools suck. I exploded one of their ratchetting wrenches doing an alignment the other day. I heard good things about them and they're made in the US and have a "lifetime no hassle" warranty. So when I tried to exchange it at Lowes noone even knew they were supposed. They weren't even aware that Kobalt tools are a Lowes specific brand. I was told I had to go threw Kobalt to have it exchanged, plus I checked and they dont even carry individual ratchetting wrenches to even get mine exchanged. So I'm done with crappy lowes tools.

I think I'm going to drop a few hundred on a few gearwrench sets. I think i'm going to get there locking flex head ones and there XL series wrenches(not sure if I want regular combination or double box end). Their XL series kicks dick and I like the gearwrench ratchetting action, nice and smooth. I like the look of there 3/8 roto head ratchet too.
it's over 3 lines, I'm not reading it :moon:

Agreed, luckily Home Depot/Husky was slightly better... they took a ratchet out of a new 100pc set and traded it for my screwed up ratchet out of my 100pc set. I haven't had to return any of my Kobalt tools yet (I think I only have a 3/8 to 1/4 reducer anyways) but they gave me the same stupid story about having to talk to Husky till I noted that the package said I could get it replaced at Home Depot, at which point they called a supervisor who verified this. GearWrenches are awesome, I have an 8mm, a 5/16, a 9/16, and a 15mm, the 5/16 should be required XJ toolbox equipment and the 15mm is great for torque converter bolts.

:roflmao: I love that site. Did you see the XJ with the license plate held up by the rear wiper on there? Just turn the rear wiper on when there is a cop behind you...

EDIT: I will trade either of you my "soft ride valved" Gabriel Guardians for 0" of lift for those Bilsteins... they're BRIGHT RED!

Where I work we'll do a check. If you come in and say "I think my alignment is off can you check it?" We assume you plan on getting it done if it is and check it for you. We don't print it out but you can come and look at it. Either way I wouldn't be comfortable paying just to have it checked unless you know they do a decent alignment(can't trust anyone). At my shop I was taught to print out my alignment before I tighten things up. That way it looks perfect and it inevitably goes a little off after it's tightened. Not a huge deal but one of our techs is an idiot. When he tightens it back up he does a shitty job. Also uses the torch alot so by the time you get back into your car your steering has contracted more than enough to throw the alignment way off from where it was printed out at. We also rarely do anything but toe unless someone actually asks us. We're all about speed. We rarely take more than 30-45 minutes to do an alignment. A proper alignment of should definitely take longer than that even if the whole process went smoothly.

Know what you're paying for. I don't know how Town Fair does things but I do know that my shop isn't the only one that does this.
