Maybe the 60 ones work once bored out for 35 spline shafts? :dunno:

You dont bore the hubs. You're thinking of spindles. Although I still don't know if the 60 hubs are compatible with 70 spindles. I have heard of people using 14 bolt shafts in 60s I think to get 1.5" shafts after cutting them down and resplining them(pretty sure I didn't make that up).

Let me know if you need help lugging that sucker around or pulling the drums, I don't know much about em but I can pull things apart and I have a 2 ton engine hoist to volunteer for the project :gee:

EDIT: also I have way too many aw4s around now:
* blown one in my jeep, probably getting rebuilt for like $200 in materials so I know I have a good strong known-good tranny on hand if I blow the new-to-me one up
* 21spl output one going into friend's mj
* new one from a 98 from Skreed, getting refit with output sensor from my blown 96, new filter/seals/gaskets etc
* a 96 one I got reamed for at the jy on saturday/wednesday because I thought if I ordered it saturday they'd give it to me then and I'd have some chance of throwing it in and making the run sunday, it's got really gross fluid in it and I will probably end up selling it on cl to make my money back or rebuilding it or something.

oh, right you are. Spindles and the 14 bolt shafts in a 60 seems weird to me, because they're 1.5" and 30 spline, whereas the 60s had 1.31" with 30 spline and 1.5" with 35 spline...

I was gonna keep engine trans (with the pedals etc) and tcase. Plus what would you want with an AX-15? If you don't want it I'll cut out the floors then chop it all up most likely. Although I'm not sure if I'd have the heart to do that :laugh: better to give it away and let someone else do that.

Give me the tranny. You don't even like AX15s. You need a nv4500.

ill pass on the shell, ill have one in my yard next month and that wil be enough, plus i think you should keep the motor and trans from yours for backups

also I gotta say, cutting up jeeps is pretty fun with a good strong ac sawzall. Chopped up Skreed's totaled 98 so we could get the engine/tranny/tc out of the yard easier. I would have been much sadder about it but the thing got t-boned and it was going nowhere except the scrapper.

i only saw a 60 and 14 bolt bible no 70, he did have a article on a 70 he found wich was bacicly what i got

I can't believe it took me till last night to figure out what Rob's "aluminum world map thingy" signature line was about.

Anthony (think it was you anyways) thanks for linking that pirate thread about doublers, I was considering how I might do such a thing (even though I totally don't need it) as I presently have two np231s sitting around that I completely didn't expect to own.
