THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hey sam, those rockers look good. but i think i'm going to take a different approach to mine a little bit.

such as

Nice, got underside pics too? why does nobody wanna cut their doors and go higher though?:dunno: i want the bottom of the rect tubing to be where the bottom of the door is now.

underside isnt done yet so i didnt take pics lol.

BUT rockers being low and hanging out a decent amount isnt a bad thing and has kept me from going over once.

i have never been hung up on them with the old xj so i figured why do more work for no real gain.

i also don't like the "steps" on the underneath you get when you trim the door a couple inches and weld them in making your floor very vunerable. i would have to pretty much make some wannabe mini boatsides by then to be happy and that is like 6 times the amount of work.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i'm surprised you didn't

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

not sure yet. farther front to back i think. probably will cut the fender back some more at the bottom so that the fender doesn't get welded to the 2x6 because that would be silly.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Sucks travis, just don't try and buy a house, you'll end up like me. Same thing, just add a lot of paperwork and zeros and frustration.

Also, looks like there is a giant Brown rally at institute and west, never thought I'd see that in this state.

i remember you saying this and i can see your point. i had some ideas like using 2x8 in order to get something that sticks out a little bit to offer protection to the lower door area and such.

i agree that having the steps and doglegs underneth does kinda suck. id rather pound the outside of the floor up and little bit and skin it all as high as i can.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

im still thinking of cutting 2" out of the bottoms of my doors and then putting the tube there, we'll see when time comes

if i went back any farther my tire would be eating it

if i went more forward (like my last jeep) i would have to hack my fender a bit and i kept the very front fender bolt on but eventually from trees and rocks and 37's it snapped off and flapped in da wind. i didnt like the look at all. when i cage this beast i will have some tube protruding out from the front of the rocker panel and bend up immediately which would give me sufficient protection without the fugly hacked fender

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My tires rub my LCA's :(

i didnt notice it on my comanche until yesterday but my tires rubbed my swaybar links

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i cut off the front bolt on the bottom of mine for more clearance. didn't really think twice about it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

^ i like that. i'm thinking of doing that with 2x6. i already have all the steel too.
