THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Haha the worst bridge on that list is about 15 minutes away from me but since that article they completely redid the whole thing.

The bridge I was talking about in that article is one of only two ways to get onto Cape Cod. It's identical twin is the second way of getting off.
I go over the other bridge mainly, which is the Sagamore bridge. But I do go over that bridge I posted frequently.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I was being nice and not mentioning the tunnel, as only us residents are allowed access to it.

What I want to do is make a bridge for tourists only. It is a nice tall bridge, and ends in the middle of the canal, so they just drive right off it into the water.

I noticed how you changed it from a 37x13.5R17 to 37x14.5R17. It is not the latter, which you posted, but what I posted. Only the 15" rim is the 14.5

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I love Sundays. Nothing to do but get drunk. Heading back out again. Thank god for DD's.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Should I get 37x13.5R17 Toyo M/T's?

1k miles on them for $800.
do it.

Got your pm, will have to check and gather my wits before replying

Came back to my apartment to pick up my chopsaw and some more grinding discs... jeep rebuild week prep continues!

It is funny, I was just looking at this picture and was getting ideas for one thing that I want to do, and I realized, this has many of the ideas I was hoping to do done to it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

A while ago, probably 2-3 months by now, I posted an auction link to an XJ that had been rear ended and I was hoping (read: dreaming) that it may be salvageable.. I can't seem to remember the auction site that it was posted on.

It was some site with many cars that had minor->major damage (or repo's, etc I believe) that were being auctioned. Does anyone happen to remember what site I may be thinking of? I know it's very vague and such, but figure it's worth asking here :dunno:

Well do you know the site name?

Long story short I am still shopping for an MJ and will be keeping my eye open all over the south trying to find a rust free truck with nice body (started shopping down south when my buddy moved to TX and I figured I could have him look at it and ship it for me if I found one down there)... Great thing is that I don't care about the engine/drivetrain condition, so I hope to find one cheap.

Then I want to pick up a 96+ XJ with "low miles" and swap the engine/trans/t-case (hopefully NP242), axles (unless the MJ has a D44), from the newer XJ to the old MJ, then use the MJ as a DD and sell my Altima and have an awesome truck. :)

google, and as far as engine swap, find a 91-95 donor, so you dont have to deal with the obd2 crap, plus i like those engines better

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah, I was torn between 91-95 for OBDI or later for OBDII. I figured OBDII couldn't be that bad and would be nice for fact that it is newer (and likely has run less miles).

Plus I want to drop an NP242 in it for the full time/part time 4wd option. Since this will be a DD and will sit at 2"-3" lift (at most) and ride on 31's I figured that the 242 would be more than strong enough and give more flexibility than a 231. This will also see very little/minor trail use.

I couldn't remember what year the NP242 was introduced and was too lazy to search, so I just figured I would look for a later year XJ that had one. So I guess my options are
A) Buy a 96+ parts rig with a 242 (and hopefully AX15). Use the interior, transmission, t-case and axles from the parts rig and buy an OBDI engine/computer separate. Also could use the 96+ front clip if it wasn't beat up.

B) Keep the older interior & front clip and get a 91-95 parts rig, use the engine/trans/t-case from that and eventually swap out the output shaft so I could run a 242.

I would just say I will buy 2 parts rigs, but I have to store the truck and parts rig at my buddies place until the work is done and it is on the road. I have the OK to store the truck there, but still am just hoping that he would OK the parts XJ. If I do happen to buy a house before I get the MJ, then I will just go all out and end up with 2 parts rigs. Or just use the drivetrain from my current XJ and throw a LS1 in there :D

Edit: Oh and you mentioned google... I tried and ended up not finding anything. Even tried to search for my post about an auction here on NAXJA and found nothing useful

The streetview vehicle turned around literally 1 house down the road from mine It turned around just before my neighbors house. Our houses are set back a bit from the road and on a hill so my house is completely blocked. I can't see what happens to be in the driveway at the time. They came down my street and turned around at one of those islands in the middle of the road. There is another island just past my house, why couldn't they have turned around at that one! :(
