there is a thread on jeepforum called "millionth post wins"
drive tards
i laugh too. i like it when he calls them "helmets"
I am a professional nerd. I write code that tries to break the new CPUs Intel designs so we find the bugs before you guys do...what do you guys do for a living? i hustle pizza all day its getting quite old
Yes.does anyone else just bust out laughing like crazy EVERY time they read something billy writes relating to his job? just wondering.
Same, that story about another driver getting pulled over for speeding by the mass environmental police while driving a van full of helmets had me rolling.i laugh too. i like it when he calls them "helmets"
i want my own lathe and bridgeport. badly
you should get that installed, and then i can come and show you how to run it. and in the process, make stuff for myself. i have crossmember pieces to make. what tooling, if any, do you have?ugh, that reminds me. i still havent called my buddy with the crane/forklift. my bridgeport is still sitting in his garage.
great story from today. I had one of my clients come on the van and tell me "I had to be restrained today" then he proceeded to start punching the windows of the van. 2 staff, a man and woman came to calm him down. He droped the woman first with a punch to the shoulder and bit her arm then kicked the guy square in the stomach and knocked him backwards. It took 4 people to bring him to the floor. less than 5 minutes later he did the same thing and had to be restrained again. after all was said and done he ripped the radio off the center console and broke one of the poles that goes from the floor to the high top. He was fine the whole way home but i drove really fast and told him santa would bring him everything he wanted if he didnt freak out and destroy the van.
there's a clamping/setup thing that's pretty standard. i'll see if i can find one online. you should figure out what mounting system the head has too (collet, the hard clamp thingy... there are a few) i'm guessing it's collets. that will be fine for 99% of the stuff you'll ever need to do on it... it's gonna be a biach to zero the head in... gotta do that before we start cutting anything too. eh i dunno how much use you'd get out of a rotary vise... and what gradients does it have? i would recommend buying tooling for each specific project so that you don't waste $ buying tooling you'll never use but like to stare at. there's a ton of tooling out there...
